"handed" and "hand picked" don't go in the same sentence together. there is no such thing as being handed hand picked CPU's...except in the uber rare instaces of a couple Intel and AMD CPU's...but that is not what i am talking about. it is possible we will be binning CPU's for members who need them...but that process is far from simple or easy in anyway, and certainly won't be leakage screened CPU's from Intel, only one or two people in the world have ever gotten those, and Vince or anyone on our team certainly isn't one of them. i don't think i even want to explain what Andre does when he buys a stack of CPU's...definitely no lack of time consumption and headaches there. and they are all random retail samples.

this term of hand picked is pretty false in your mind. yes, some guys use hand picked hardware, but hand picked != binned and handed to them by a manu. manufacturers wouldn't know how to bin a GPU for cold if their life depended on it. hand picked means buying/receiving multiple pieces and binning yourself. again, not cheap, easy, or simple by any stretch of the imagination. even if you are sponsored and receive the hardware, the time and LN2, mods, etc... involved are a heavy cost

it is sometimes upsetting to see comments like this because of a lack of knowledge of how people really do things. i know it isn't your fault you don't actually understand what goes on behind the scenes of a top bencher, but i would still prefer you didn't make statements based on speculation from that lack of knowledge of what is really happening. starts rumors that aren't true, provides a false sense of knowledge, and makes you look bad to those that do know what is going on.

i am not trying to piss on someones corn flakes here, just provide info where there is clearly a lack of accurate information leading to skewed views on certain subjects.

I know Vince and how he feels about all this ES and other cherry picked chips, I highly doubt that is what he is doing here.

3oh6 your a great guy and do a lot of hard work doing these reviews, I like them a lot and you do a great job. I have met you in person also and you have my respect as a great bencher.

Binning retail chips is 1,000x's different than a manufacture binning cherry chips for benchers.

Good luck with Pure as I am sure you guys will/are a force to reckon with. I am glad that Vince is making his dream come true in forming this new team, it will be a "Dream Team" that is for sure.

I think some growing pains will be in order for Team PURE as time goes on guys. I think Vince is chasing after a solid "Team" similar to the scrappers of NBOC, ClassicPlatforms and Overclockaholics who bench hard and often with what they've got, team mates who constantly push each other to get the sand warshed out and numbers put up. Continually driving each other to be better.

No doubt their will be inherent perks and opportunities that come with hanging out with the world's top overclockers. This undoubtably is a big draw for Team PURE. The press and publicity associated with this "Dream Team" alone is a big draw. But again, I'd have to say that I believe he's after inspiration and that Team Drive that he didn't have at XS. He stood up their at the top for a long long time with nobody in his class to compete with or help keep the motivation strong.

This is a whole new animal and Team, its exciting, interesting and marks a changing climate at hwbot.

On the far side, if Team PURE takes the top spot in the community league, what could happen? Will HOT merge with another Team to regain that top spot? If so, will PURE then merge with other teams to get it back? In this scenario, we could likely be looking at an East vs West Hwbot. Everyone would be either on Team 1 or Team 2 with 100k Boints each. LOL, I'm just HIGHLY speculating :D

No insult intended...the "uninformed" masses were just a little weary of the mantra today.

I hardly consider either of these teams "scrappers". Scrappers would be team CP, who's team consists of basically 7 old guys on 4 or 5 generation old hardware with no extreme cooling, only air or water. Yet we still maintain a top 5 in the US standing. You guys are someplace in between Vince's team and us.
