Well I have a home business building/repairing computers and selling hardware on ebay. So Ill still be around to keep up on new tech etc.

Ill still overclock but just for fun i think. Hwbot has seriously ruined the hobby for me. Just 3 years ago when I was starting out with serious OC'ing things were so different. It was about fun and friendly competition back then...

Yeah I share your views here, alot of great people still involved... but alot of great people left too for the same reasons (so many I cant even begin to list them all). And I honestly hope things get better, but with more manufacturer involvment the "scene" is just becoming a marketing playground.

I became an active poster here at OCA b/c I loved the attitude I saw here... helpful, humble, fun. Keep it that way guys!

Chuchnit 06-09-2010 09:34 AM

Good luck Karma. Hope you still come around. :)

Witchdoctor 06-09-2010 09:45 AM

Bummer Karma,

Just had a strong reminder yesterday of how rediculous a lot of this BS has become ...

Hope you hang around still bro ..... I hate to think of another class act leaving the sport ....

Best of luck to you and your family bro .............

Yah its harsh and dissappointing having a bunch of yahoo's that think because they work for or are supported by manufacturers, its cool to compete with average joe's hobbiest on a wide scale using special priveleges data sheets and nda mods.

Why do they overclock to begin with?
a) to compete with other overclockers?
b) to compete only with other manfufacturer overclockers?
c)to promote their companies brand?
d) for fun?

If they answered "a" then what kind of jackfruit uses such an imbalanced approach to competition?

If they answered "b" then what kinda jackfruit enters an arena dominated by average joe's, there is no "competition" there.

If they answered "c", well I aint buying your product cuz you suck.

If, they answered "d", good for you, keep your fun in your pants and out of competitions or contests.

I don't intend for this community to be turning into a bunch of secret squirrels pussies that have no intentions of helping each other.

You're no longer a hobbiest when your sucking the tit of the manufacturers, you're a marketing professional. Nobody, not anybody, was born with a wealth of knowledge, somebody else started them on their way, taught them, nurtured them, encouraged them, all with the intentions that they'd pass it along and not hoard the information. So to all those hobbiest turned TOOL, tsk tsk, to be light about it.

Anyways, this isn't the focus of Overclockaholics or the OC-Alliance. Our focus to bench what we brung and we quite enjoy the extra adversities ahead of us. One way or another we will succeed in our goals, thats who we are, thats what we do.

Goal#1 is having the time of our lives :)

SO lets get back on topic with bot mutilation

RomDominance 06-09-2010 10:08 AM

Guess a little break is in order heh Jaime? With your skills you could easily come back to it if you were so inclined. I guess it is like anything else in life which involves human beings, things can get hairy, but they always seem to turn around sooner or later. I try not to let the words of others get me or my team down. Best of luck bro in your future endeavors.

Dentlord 06-12-2010 02:18 PM

Ok I took the weekend off, so Im benching tonight. 295 and e8600 are all prepped but those will have to wait ... tonight is 480 CB testing night!

Flashed bios for the CB fix and did the CBB mod. Added double caps, and ready to rock...

Very short test earlier had card running at 1200 core right away, then I stopped to thaw and do the CBB mod.

Wish me luck, I might not get many chances in the near future!

Jor-El 06-13-2010 09:06 AM

Well done 'June Bugged' guys impressive submissions...

I won't be posting anything before the 25th :-(

Dentlord 06-13-2010 10:01 AM

Sorry guys, I couldnt come up with anything ... just one 06 run @ 1190 on the last drops of ln2 after wasting a whole dewar trying to run 03.

Nature by itself would pass easily as high as 1250 but running the whole bench at just 1200, nature would crash everytime?

Sick of running out of ln2, Rom hooked me up with a 50l + extractor for sale, Ill probably jump on it.

Hondacity 06-13-2010 11:35 AM

9.6 pts

wooot :D

gt3 is the craziest bench gt4 is also crazy...

gt3 to gt4 transition might be important....are they the same temps when you test gt3 only?

Yeah benching at -120c on the card, its in the middle of nature that it crashes, freeze, then white or black screen hardlock.

Hondacity 06-13-2010 02:59 PM

did the additional caps help?

i'm thinking caps aren't fully charged after gt3..so their exhausted...i'm really interested at eleet with changing the frequency of the pwm.....

or its another ocp...

Dentlord 06-13-2010 05:01 PM

Caps seemed to help fps yes ... but this new crashing I dont know?

PWM was set to 533 (random choice) and ocp checked with eleet.

ALSO

Anyone know about what a decent e8600 should clock on SS?? I got this one to 5500 at -45c, but it took a lot of V (1.7vcc and 1.4vtt)

Hondacity 06-13-2010 05:21 PM

thats a decent fsb...what 775 mobo?

i got mine upto 535fsb its a weak e8600

on water cooling 20c...i could clock 5ghz easy on my old e8600

here's patch 's e8600 http://www.overclock.net/7173086-post1.html

Splave 06-13-2010 05:56 PM

It was a thermal wall, not a fsb wall. I got 600fsb with 8x to test, so under ln2 should be ok to 6ghz

Patch 06-18-2010 04:43 PM

Just busy doing husband/father stuff lately.

I have the week off after next week so I plan on doing the coldslow fixed Fermi stuff after we go camping for a few days. Then see if I can snag some 8800gts golds with the cpu on cold.....then maybe....just maybe....do some 5870 crossfire, trifire, and quadfire runs on the R3E.

Getting better :) learning the board and I see myself getting quite addicted to this. The little unique things the board likes im beginning to understand which frustrated the shit out of me before.

Splave 06-19-2010 12:20 PM

UD6 is a tricky board but much potential :) Ram + qpi clocking way better than classy.
