Holy moly my OS sucks!!! Huge difference. Freeze that damn 655k and run some 32m already!!!!

rickss69 10-08-2010 05:23 AM

Any of the Gigabyte micro mb's are great for 1156 and cheap as well. http://hwbot.org/community/submissio...min_48sec_47ms

Had a 7.703ghz but the file had a bad checksum so I had to settle for this. Not to bad. I said forget 6ghz, I want 7ghz. :D

wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwoooooooooooowwwwww

impressive....the return definitely is a return :D

DrNip 10-09-2010 07:02 AM

Too damn easy. Was booting at 7ghz into Windows. :D

Hondacity 10-09-2010 07:51 AM

really..danngg...no cb?

lga775 is partly last after i do my core i series benches..

DrNip 10-09-2010 08:04 AM

No cb. -150 cbb.

Hondacity 10-09-2010 08:26 AM

dya used the rocket base?

DrNip 10-09-2010 08:30 AM

Yeppers. MSI mobo was a complete fail. No go. Going get the Asus Maximus ready and prolly the little Gigabyte that could. Also going to get the 1090t bumping.

Hondacity 10-09-2010 08:31 AM

nice...i think its colder...

splave.

have you tried the rocket base for your 8ghz? i think the rocket base is colder than the original f1ee.

DrNip 10-09-2010 12:07 PM

1090t was a complete waste. Had CPU-z validations all the way up to 6.3ghz but for some reason everyone is rejected. :( Something with CPU-z was pooched.

did you put in an email ? im not sure but i think there so many times you could use the same email in a period of time

DrNip 10-09-2010 01:42 PM

I'mthinking because maybe the year was set wrong in my OS. I can't call it. I do know that Lynnfield is a waste of time and money.

750 = FAILSAUCE
875 = FAILSAUCE

Happens a lot with AMD.

Best bet is to down clock the cores in AOD then bring them back up for validation.

(At least that was what worked for me to get a genuine validation in the past..)

DrNip 10-09-2010 05:37 PM

I dunno. I had about 10 different validations from 5ghz to this and everyone were rejected.

Splave 10-09-2010 05:40 PM

nvm

DrNip 10-09-2010 05:45 PM

I submitted it. Some of the peeps over there had valid submissions and some didn't. Just looked back at my pics. I had 14 AMD CPUz and all 14 were rejected today. WTF

Neuromancer 10-09-2010 05:47 PM

Its a problem with CPUz code

It has been happening for years, and they just dont care.

DrNip 10-09-2010 05:48 PM

Well I feel better now. It doesn't feel like I jacked 2 hours off on the 1090t setup today for nothing. :D

Just picked up a 356 off the bay today for $17 shipped. FTW and 8ghz!

Dentlord 10-09-2010 06:49 PM

Thanks for having me at your house today Nipster, I had a great time :)

Too bad Lynnfield didn't work out though, those chips are horrid!!

DrNip 10-09-2010 11:55 PM

Yeah it was a blast even though we failed miserably on Lynnfield. Fook Lynnfield! LN2 was fun as hell and can't wait to do it again.

Up next:

Blackops and Q6600 prepped and ready to go.

GeorgeStorm 10-10-2010 09:01 AM

Thats a massive difference
Where on earth did you get that OS? And why isn't everyone using it? :P

karmakazi 10-10-2010 09:59 AM

nice stuff Chuch glad everything worked out for ya. 7.7ghz is a really nice one! Might want to try it on a different board and see if theres anything to be gained?

DrNip 10-10-2010 11:27 AM

Been eyeballing a P5e3 Premium but it is $225. Waiting to see if one pops up on the bay.

DrNip 10-11-2010 02:27 AM

I officially am putting the 750 on hold and in the wifes HTPC. I can't call it with this chip. I have spent days jacking with it just for some days being able to get 4.7ghz on air but then only 4.2ghz on LN2? WTF? I have tried multiple mobos just to pooch my little Gigabyte that could out of pure frustration and ripping a mod off the mobo just to take a few caps with the rip. Whoops. I will revisit this chip on down the line but I can' take anymore of it for now.

Up next we have the Q6600 paired up with the Blackops with a bottle of my special moonshine in the middle. Everything is prepped and ready for when the baby goes to bed tomorrow night. All 2D benches will be hit except PCMrk05 and that is only because my biggest GPU is a 5450! ROFL Looking to at least pick up on 100 hardware boints. Hoping I can set aside every Friday night for a session. :keeporder:

Chuchnit 10-15-2010 01:56 AM

Trav, you got that blackops figured out or just gonna wing it on dice?

DrNip 10-15-2010 02:22 AM

Just going to wing it like I did the AMDer on LN2. I like a good challenge. Will be on DICE.

Dentlord 10-15-2010 02:32 AM

Dice is plenty cold for the Q, itll be all about fsb limit, I hope the BlackOps handles a quad better than my REX does...

DrNip 10-15-2010 03:10 AM

I hope the Blackops can handle my noob arse on it. :confused2:

The blackops was supposed to be the Quad killa. Too bad the E8600 came along and stole its thunder.

I would say it will be like riding a bike, but the bops is supposed to be a difficult board to clock with.

DrNip 10-15-2010 03:25 AM

Well we are going to see come tonight. Anything has got to be better than what I experienced when trying to overclock that 750!

lol you will get it man. Any idea on what this Q6600 is capable of?

DrNip 10-15-2010 03:33 AM

Nope I sure don't. Can't be that hard. Crank the volts and then crank the FSB, right? LOL :wtf:

Even if I only get a 4.2ghz overclock across the board that is worth around 9 points per 2D bench. Over 21,000 peeps have submitted this chip to the bot! I hoping to at least get 4.5ghz. That sounds weird. I'm use to getting that on air now a days! ROFL

Chuchnit 10-15-2010 04:53 AM

IIRC, one of the largest bitches about the Bops was the memory compatibility. You might need a set of some micron D9GTR's if the elpida doesn't act nice.
