Oh.. I was mixing scores. I saw your 3.7 on air and just assumed you went higher Okay so your e2160 was running around 488 MHz FSB IIRC. Thats called a hole. on p45. Did you try just jumping 20MHz on FSB> 501 tends to work when 480-500 does not. You should have straps on your board too IIRC.. did you leave it when you upped the clocks.. or did you loosen it? Difference between cheap Biostar boards and high end is usually not much... it is something manufacturers figured out a little later. This is old as info and im sure most of the 775 clockers have considered it and saw a reason not to mention it. Something I am overlooking. P45 relaxing PLs should do well over 500 on high end air. 600 maybe. 700+ you will need advanced cooling. |
Yeah, the e6300 wouldnt even do 430.
Got the e2160 to 480 yeah, can't remember if i tried higher, I think I did, but will give it another go tomorrow PL was left on auto |
Another go today
Moved the probe, think the readings were more reliable. Felt as though it went better today, even though I got no scores whatsoever, overall the system played ball more, think the contact was better. Although had an e9 error code at the end, and when I dismantled, bit of ice on the bottom of the board around the edge of the backplates armaflex, don't think the board is dead though Am gonna try the e4300 tomorrow and I guess I'll find out |
water is the only problem for most.
vaseline cures the water virus... |
Well, had a much better session this afternoon, only 2 hours or so, but the e4300 seemed to do better, maybe cos I put a little less insulation around the cpu (thanks nat ), and got a hole drilled near the base so the temps were reporting correctly
Will post up the scores asap, and next time I'll take a camera :) |
woooooooot :D
|
Should i just put the scores here? Rather than make a new thread, cos I wouldn't know where to put the scores as it's not for OCA...
|
Postem up.
OCM  |
First I'd like to say thanks for all the help from you guys
Here's what I managed today with the e4300 (started with the e2160, gave up after half an hour with a meh mount) cpu-z - 6th http://hwbot.org/community/submission/1083094_ superpi - 9th http://hwbot.org/community/submission/1083096_ pifast - 7th http://hwbot.org/community/submission/1083108_ FSb wall at 500, and no scores tweaked due to time constraints, but I'm making progress :D Now that I'm starting to get the hang of it, expect more ;) |

Haha, lets hope I don't crumble under your gaze
Will have another go with the 3 cpus, but am really looking forward to using my new i5 stuff i5 670, p55-ud5 modded. Just need to figure out how to clock i5... :P |
sp1m.....and what os is that?
6th out of 229...thats really goood |
XP, and for cpu-z? Yeah, don't think I can get any higher as I think its an fsb wall, but may test again if i get the time.

Thinking of buying an inflection pot and an enermax galaxy 1000W PSU, good idea? (getting them both for 170 quid, and selling my current pot for 110)
Anything I should go for instead? Thanks |
so far the inflection pot is very impressive...

Right, am looking at having another go (with different stuff) now that I have finished coursework etc and have some stuff to bench and some spare time
Stuff to bench: e8400 (hopefully) Q6600 (hopefully) i5 670 And gpu-wise GTX480 GTX580 8800GTS 320mb 8800GT 8800GTX 4850 4870X2 Boards will be biostar tpower i45, and giga p55-ud5. with 2gb of OCZ flex 1200mhz CAS5 and 4gb of avexir 2000mhz CAS9 respectively. Hoping to bench the cpus cold, and maybe the cards aswell if possible :) Pot wise I'll be using a SF3D Inflection, and a little devil gpu pot. The cpu pot has a proper hole drilled for a probe, and a probe properly fixed in it, (one which actually works :P) so should have more success than last time! Am looking for a dual input thermometer as a result, can't really find any on the forums (just missed out on jor-els) Have been told this is actually quite good (I'm pretty skeptical): http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Tipo-K-o-J-Ter...item4aa5c663d3 Any other options? (obviously budget is limited, can't really afford to spend more than £50. Thanks |
