I do see what your saying though....in cpu-z my ram says 900Mhz and doubled that is 1800. Ima learnin.... I think LMAO!

Your FSB: DRAM says 2:10 and on mine it says 1:2.... What does that setting in the bios do for your ram?

I don't think I can run it at that or if I did it would be real slow. This i7 is a totally different ball game BIOS wise.

Jeffro64 04-24-2009 07:16 AM

I was just wondering what those settings do for the ram as i've never messed with them, just sync mode.

DrNip 04-24-2009 01:03 PM

Today I will be testing the limits of my RAM. I think this is a check. Going to tighten her up some.

Damn buddy looking good. Is that vdimm correct in the smart gaurdian?

DrNip 04-24-2009 04:34 PM

Yeppers.

Jeffro64 04-24-2009 08:18 PM

Nice numbers.... and thats a sweet lookin rig!

Chuchnit 04-25-2009 04:42 AM

Nip, it looks like you finally got great hardware all the way around. Pwnage is imminent.

DrNip 04-25-2009 07:39 AM

Thought I zapped the mobo!!! I got scared as it froze up. Upon restarting it it gave me code 88. I reset the CMOS and it gave me a non existing code again like the last mobo. So I pulled the battery and let it sit for a bit and by the grace of the overclocking gods they winked on me and the mobo started up again.

hahaha, I bet under normal circumstances that would be no big deal. All hail lord overclock :rofl

DrNip 04-25-2009 08:30 AM

Just realized it threw me waaaay back to 12/7/2007 at 11:00pm!

Chuchnit 04-25-2009 08:32 AM

hahaha

DrNip 04-26-2009 04:24 AM

Gettin to 221 bclk is a breeze and that is where I am now. I can get there at really low volts too. Gettin past it is a different story. I am goin to have to buckle down and do a lil research as well trial and error to get past it. I read some where that when you start to get in excess of 221 bclk the pcie clock comes into play. I might need to wait until my pot mount comes in too as I read some cpus just can't hit that high of bclk without cooler temps as I am floating in the upper 40's to lower 90's at these speeds.

Kal-EL 04-26-2009 06:16 AM

Its gonna be fun once I eventually get into the i7 action. I wonder if the bios revisions are gonna have any play in increased clock performance.

DrNip 04-26-2009 06:45 AM

Look at this.

Kal-EL 04-26-2009 01:46 PM

I see it, its getting hot in here.

Jeffro64 04-26-2009 05:45 PM

It'll handle more!!!!! :D

DrNip 04-27-2009 02:19 PM

Here is the highest I have been able to boot. I know the vcore can come down some but I just can't figure it out. I need more practice as I know I am pushin it thru the boot with unnecessary vcore.

Jeffro64 04-27-2009 02:21 PM

Thats pretty damn good on air! I can't wait to see it on dice.

DrNip 04-27-2009 02:24 PM

Yeah I kinda think I might need to put the pot on her to get her higher as heat is playing a major role on it. Scales better when cooler. Way better.

DrNip 04-28-2009 01:48 PM

Alrighty. I am getting back in there as I think I have been given her too much volts causing too much heat which in return is limiting my blck. I think. So I am starting from the floor up with less volts and so far I am amazing myself yet again with this lil o gem of a CPU I have. :D

Jeffro64 04-28-2009 01:55 PM

Nice! What do you tweak to get better scores in that bench? I ran one @ 11.578 and thats net bad but I think I can do better.

DrNip 04-28-2009 01:59 PM

More FSB or BLCK!!!! LOL I really don't know. I am sure there are alot of variables to come into play to make your score better.

Jeffro64 04-28-2009 02:06 PM

More FSB?? Not with this board/bios.

BTW.... I've been seeing you talk about BLCK, what is that anyway?

DrNip 04-28-2009 02:09 PM

Base Clock. Here, read up on this as it will kinda give you a run down of how to overclock an i7.

Kewl thanks!!

Jeff, sometimes running just a single stick of ram will net you faster times. Trial and error for most.

Kal-EL 04-28-2009 04:28 PM

I smell another 5ghz overclock on air from u nip.

DrNip 04-28-2009 04:29 PM

Man I am lovin this shit. Sorry for the language but years and years of wanting a cherry and I finally have one!!!

Jeffro64 04-28-2009 04:33 PM

Yeah.... it's looking very possible for a 5ghz on air clock. Amazing indeed!

DrNip 04-28-2009 04:37 PM

If temps were cooler. Damn why ain't it winter still!!!

Well, officially, the on air 5ghz overclock was with cool ambient air temps so running an a/c unit wouldn't be far fetched.

Jeffro64 04-28-2009 04:58 PM

Run a duct!!!!

DrNip 04-29-2009 04:26 AM

I went ahead and dubbed my chip "Golden Graham".

Chuchnit 04-29-2009 04:29 AM

lmao Nice one

Kal-EL 04-29-2009 06:08 AM

Significance of the name?
