Very tidy Nip! :good:
I'll get the finalized pics in a week when my 580 drops.
one small ass case.... think ill step on it on accident
4.7ghz stable @ 1.32v. Back to the drawing board to see if I can squeeze a little more out at them volts. TBH, SB is waaaay to easy to overclock. Remember when you had to work for your overclock? No longer. Only voltage I have touched is vcore.

Damn I wish I could do some Windows overclocking on the multi without it downclocking on me. Here is a 5.3ghz boot. :D

5.4ghz boot. All on my little Asus Pro Micro that could. :D
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1629011 Attachment 4458 Might have to invest in some better cooling and a MTX mobo. |
Good on you buddy - now mine won't clock at all lol.

Sorry bro. sorry.
Hold the phones. 5.5ghz boot. :D http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1629011 Attachment 4459 |
What temps are you getting?
Dunno didn't look. Will when I do it again.
Mine will not accept vcore over 1.54 volts...refuses to boot even cold. 5.3GHz is the highest I have managed.
Yeah I'm going to take this to the garage tonight where temps are ass cold and see what she can do.

New BIOS Please :keeporder: |

whats wrong with 1.54v and above? just disable cpu vcore monitoring..
Strange, mine isn't disabled. That does make since for ya'll having problems though.
5.5ghz was really quite simple. All I did was disable the usual CPU downclocking settings in the BIOS and set vcore manually in BIOS or excuse me EUFI. That was it. No other volt settings touched. Of course I only have two other volt settings in EUFI well three if you count RAM, ROFL. |

Over volting that far? That would have to be a pretty heavy over volt or else the over volt protection isn't that high on SB's. Can't call it on this one.
ovp warning...
its a warning |
I know it is a warning. I just can't imagine it overvolting that far is all. I don't know what it would be related to. Overvolting, BIOS or chip related I dunno.
youll bench later in the cold...try 1.6v and take pics of the ovp warning message..
Ahhh your talking about the little annoying message that pops up in the bottom right of the screen. Gotcha now. Seen it already. Sorry. I'm a little slow sometimes. I was sitting here thinking OVP and thinking it was around 1.95 or so and was trying to figure out how their vcore set to 1.54 was being overvolted that high.
EDIT: Shouldn't he still be able to boot if he is only hitting the warning? |

Wow. Just tried installing Xp and having the same problems witchdoctor did. After the initial loading of files I get a blue screen of death after the windows is now starting. WTF!?! I didn't even get to any options. Oh well, Windows 7 it is.
Travis, you don't have ACHI enabled do you?

Doh. Yeah. Good looking out bro.
Newest validation, 5.6ghz boot!!!!!!!!!!! http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1630881 Attachment 4467 I can't overclock the BCLK anything past 100 on 5ghz or more. Thinking it might be mobo related. Thinking of getting a better mobo and seeing what she can do. Gots to find the money somehow. |
wow, 5.6ghz is promise land ish :)
Still can't get XP to install. Have tried two different disk. I give. Asus P67 isn't capatible with XP or some shit. Keep getting a NTLDR is missing. PS2 and USB mouse doesn't work nor USB keyboard. Only PS2 keyboard. XP use to be an easy install and I have done it too many times. It ain't this hard. In the end somehow I ended up corrupting my Windows 7 install on my SDD? WTF? Looks like I will be a Windows 7 strictly bencher.
Try the SATA 6.0 Gb's connectors just for giggles...

Same thing here, it is the defective chipset Asus told me. I got it on my 5th XP disc. the Yellow one ...... :clapping: |
on asus vanila p67...
i have 4 ssds....and two have xp...two have win7....easy installs with ide :D |
When you get ready to sell that chip Nip I call first dibs. ;)
IDE enabled. 1st XP was a retail CD. I would get all the way to the black screen asking if display or resolution was ok. Tried everything I could to click the ok but couldn't because both PS2 and USB mouse wasn't functioning. So I tried a Winlite version that had that option took out. Could get to XP desktop but that was it. No matter what I did both mice didn't work. Loaded all drivers and still no jive. As soon as I rebooted I would get the ntldr missing error. Didn't even mess with the Taiserver as I imagine it would be the same but in a foreign language which would have pissed me off to the breaking point. Just going to run what I can in Windows 7, bench my GTX580 next week and call it until I can get a replacement mobo when the start to sell them.
Wow 5.6 ......... sick ... nice job bro
Thank you, thank you. Didn't even try 57 multi yet.
How did you get past the voltage lock ???
Mine won't go past 1.53 ??? |
What voltage lock? Mine doesn't have that. I just set it and forget it, lol.
sick stuff Nip!
ROFL. If you guys are limited on your voltage then I retract my statement of it is your cpu to it might be your mobo. Some of ya'll prolly have a little more in your chips but your mobo voltage limit is holding you back. Just a therory, don't take it to the bank.
