I posted somewhere yesterday how I couldn't find a ASUS MAX IV EXT anywhere on the web - actually, wasn't much of any SB boards on the web last night. Now we know why - ratbastards

Thank god I cancelled my ASUS order before the announcement ...... phwew

Oh yeah, boards aren't worth 2 cents now, rma is indeed required.

UPS is also going to make a killing on this .............

Chuchnit 02-01-2011 05:22 AM

Bad Karma for f(l)ucking with bclocking?

On another note, is intel going to pay to recover the losses for the board manufacturers?

hmm.... 8 million chipsets sold, so 8 million boards to be shipped. Might not be a bad time to stock up on UPS stock this quarter....

Lets take an conservative average of $4 to ship each board. That's $32 million right there. Then take into account that most of these will be shipped two or more times. end user>manufacturer>end user. That doesn't include if the boards have to go to intel. So in theory that is $96 million in additional revenue for the shipping companies in a quarter. But you got to offset that by the decrease in revenue from the shipments that are halted now because manufacturing halted. Either way it will probably make a nice quarter for one of the shipping companies.

Witchdoctor 02-01-2011 05:30 AM

egg is sending prepaid UPS lables out by the bushel

Just another though, sould be a good quarter for the dudes that make those styrofoam balls as well

I was just wondering how big of a party AMD is throwing right now? Bulldozer will be out not much after SB is back on the market.

After binning 980x's, lightning.s, 480's and the such this would be a breeze. But i'm not up for the headaches.

Called Gigabyte today and they said no RMA.

You have to return your p67 to your retailer for a full refund. When the new boards come out in late April you can purchase another.

Again, no on RMA'ing your old board straight thru Gigabyte when the fixed boards are available since it's an actual Intel recall.

That is some serious bull shit, Intel did not sell that board. It was Gigabites chipset as soon as they purchased it from Intel.

I was looking close at a UD7 once the new ones came out.

I hope the Classy hits the streets when the rest do, gotta give it to eVGA they came out of this smelling like a rose since they were late to the party

Gigabite = Dicks !!!

Yeah, it is major BS but it is what it is. I only use sata 0/1 since its a bencher but need it replaced anyway so its sellable in the future. What a P.I.T.A. :Dizzy:

Witchdoctor 02-04-2011 10:47 AM

Hondacity 02-04-2011 01:10 PM

I hear ya Honda, but was refering to the situation not the platforms preformance.

I only had it for a week and TBH, it is an insane platform, just wish Intel would have gotten it right the first time

it sucks having to wait till April to play with it again

Splave 02-04-2011 03:17 PM

wish I had a ud7 or ud5 or mive

Hondacity 02-04-2011 03:49 PM

if they're scrapping the boards..we could prolly still get some...

if the intel chip will be replaced it will be a waiting game...

OC Maximus 02-04-2011 05:26 PM

ebay has ud5's

Think I should hold on to the L042B215 and get rid of the mb or chuck them both?

anything wrong with your cpu?

Patch 02-04-2011 10:24 PM

Just saw my email from newegg.

Mobo refund in process. :)

I already sold my measly 5.2ghz CPU prior to the recall, so this situation is working out great.

Never been able to try out a rig for so little net financial output before. :)

Other than I have never been able to exceed 5.3GHz, no. I have no clue if that was due to the cpu or the motherboard I was using it in.

Splave 02-05-2011 04:01 AM

want me to test it rick? ;)

rickss69 02-05-2011 06:55 AM

I have a Biostar mb inbound due around Monday. I will test the cpu in it and make a decision then.
