So how was the first week of business?

Splave 03-02-2011 03:22 AM

Really good, the 2nd week has been even better :)

Chuchnit 03-02-2011 04:14 AM

Great to hear buddy. I love a sucess story. Especially in this economy. So how does this work out? You partnered with the optomitrist or is he just on the payroll?

GeorgeStorm 03-02-2011 05:15 AM

Sounds good, still waiting for pics ;)

I just pay the doc as independent contractor. SHE will pay her own taxes on the income and I will write it off :) She is very good at what she does and that is key.

Georgie, I will bring a camera tomorrow I promise

GeorgeStorm 03-02-2011 06:04 AM

Yay, pretty pictures, I'm so easily amused :P

I love sub-contractors. You save a ton of money and its a nice write off at the end of the year.

GFDuke 03-27-2011 11:46 PM

What do you think about these Al? Are they as good as proposed?

Very interesting, wonder if it'll fit my fat head?

Splave 03-28-2011 06:26 AM

I call BS on those, they have a magnification power to them then they toss a high contrast lens in with anti-glare coating. So all these no job all day gamers breaking into their late 30's that are turning presbyopic like a little extra plus power for work closer then 20ft so all the reviews are great when in all actuality they probably havent had an eye exam in 5 years lol

You would be better off getting a proper script in computer distance only lenses. Dont be shy, tell your eye doc or optician that you want a setup for gaming only. Bet you'd love em.

Listen to the Splaveman.

When you're up and walking around you blink every 4-5 seconds.

When you stare at a screen (or read, or drive, or sew...) you blink every 10-20 seconds.

Those of you over 40 are blinking even less while you stare and squint trying to see crap up close.

Cutting the Lasik flap also cuts corneal nerve endings that play a role with your tears. Effectively makes you even drier Supes.

All you young kids with eye problems *pshaw.

(actually just noticed my eyes starting to bother me more, of course it is the start of allergy season... but I cant always read the ICs on motherboards anymore. :( Even with my 99 cent magnifying glass sometimes...)

Hell, I remember when I could do bridge mods without a magnifying glass. Now I'm lucky I can read the stepping.
Wife has RP though, so I guess I shouldn't complain at all.

Yup, but I proved her wrong. I can see just fine but it may be the reason for my carpal runnel and tennis elbow.
