Splave 04-06-2011 02:44 PM

x55 pass 1.58v :)

ny_driver 04-06-2011 02:50 PM

Hey is 4300 kinda high for the NB on this 920?

higher the better.... how much qpi/vtt are you using ?

ny_driver 04-06-2011 03:47 PM

I'm using ~1.55v qpi.

How come when I set the qpi link to full speed, the mouse freezes up at ~226 bclk until I back down? Tried increasing the qpi voltage which didn't help.

DOM 04-06-2011 04:10 PM

wuts the pci-e at ?

but the qpi craps out at high blck thats why... i used slow mode for 2d when i had a 920

ny_driver 04-06-2011 04:20 PM

pci-e at 115.
Splave said to use full speed except for cpu-z so I was trying it, plus I see many results with it at full speed. I wonder what's the deal?
I figured full speed would be better, but it seems to be benching pretty well in slow mode. Only 4 seconds behind Splaves time:)

DOM 04-06-2011 04:24 PM

might be mb then... i can get 250 on the 980 at full speed but never benched it haha but it does drop points in 3d after qpi 4100mhz

wuts the ioh volt ? think that the nb volt

ny_driver 04-06-2011 04:30 PM

You think ioh is the NB?

It's at 1.195v anyways.

DOM 04-06-2011 05:02 PM

idk wut it is lol im guessing do you know ?

i know thats one is there ich ?

ny_driver 04-06-2011 05:08 PM

I have 5 checkpoints on the board, but many other voltages in BIOS. I've got cpu, qpi, ddr, ioh, and ich on the board.

Who knows....slow mode is working fine.

Kal-EL 04-06-2011 10:34 PM

First chip looks like crap @ x49 multi, gonna play with it more after work but it looks like a crapper. I hope chip#2 (same batch)turns out to be a miracle chip.

1st chip was good :) x55 max multi does 5.6ghz booting though which is strange nice low voltage chip
http://overclockaholics.com/forums/a...1&d=1302176031

http://overclockaholics.com/forums/a...1&d=1302176031

2nd chip is a socket protector, x52 max 5.2ghz

3rd chip still testing running 32m at 5.5ghz 1.61v so far 5.4 to 5.5 took .07v extra so its probably near maxing out.
http://overclockaholics.com/forums/a...1&d=1302176031

EDIT: Chip 3 passed 5.5ghz now running 5.6 1.635v :bench:

Kal-EL 04-07-2011 02:48 AM

Better than the average, wish it was a 6ghz chip bro :)

OC Maximus 04-07-2011 07:01 AM

.... ..... .... ..... Status update .... ..... .... ..... Status update .... ..... .... .....

Chip and board are fine. Gskills are fubar. They need 1.7v to boot now. Luckily I had a second set of the better gskills to test and things seem to be back on track. Currently in the process of redoing all 3d profiles. Boy I'm so glad the chip is still alive. Had to jumper the cmos switch to get it to clear but now the switch is working again. Working on getting this board RMA'd for a B3 model.

Sorry for all the man down, man down drama. I'm such a noob, lmao.

ny_driver 04-07-2011 07:09 AM

I remember when that 5770 went down for no apparent reason I was very worried about everything else.

I'm glad all is well.;)

OC Maximus 04-07-2011 01:04 PM

Already have an RMA number from Gskill. Man, they are fast.

that's the only good thing i did this week

wish my 970 didn't just stop clocking...
it was doing so much better... oh well

Splave 04-08-2011 04:41 AM

trying chip #3 on some cold :) gotta use up my dewar to fill it on my luncher

ny_driver 04-08-2011 04:52 AM

GL bro. :clapping: Sure wish I had LN2 for my 920......I'm almost kicking ass and taking names with just my chiller.

Vivi 04-08-2011 10:03 AM

from my experience batches don't matter at aaaalll. super unstable sandy's >_<

i had L051A163 mine did 5.65.
my friend did 5.1
other friend 5.0
other friend 4.8
all same batch.

my new batch,
LO41B213
1st one, 5.3
second one 5.7

curse sandy binning. atleast it's not called 2600X, then we we're screwed!

Witchdoctor 04-08-2011 10:09 AM

No doubt,

binning 990x is insanity, 2600K's are at least in the realm of being some what sane. :Dizzy:

Splave 04-08-2011 10:28 AM

its nice not spending so much on ln2 though ;)

That's pretty amazing you have the 2x gpu and the cpu in the loop and the water stays that cold. How hot does the cpu get fully loaded, and what waterblock are you using? I need to get a new top of the line block, like the EK supreme HF probably.

Witchdoctor 04-09-2011 04:50 AM

31K has been breached

Great work everyone............

She sure knows how to take a load :taunt:

CPU is not fully loaded since its 3D with no cpu test. I'll bench 06 today and see what water temp gets too. I do have one rad shoved in the a/c so its getting the coldest air forced through it. Three triple rads total so its a nice amount of water to take the heat load.

Hehehe.........

When I was using the A/C to chill my loop I only had a single rad 120 x 240mm. More water makes a big difference I'm sure, but I need the best block out there also.

Taking the block apart to check for any residual buildup from 2 days usewith a strainer/screen from a paint gun on it.......it's not cooling nearly as well as the night I first installed the stock base plate.

EDIT: I need to design my own base plate that won't get all filled with cat hair etc.....I have a couple nice big copper passive HS. I could make 1 base-plate out of each one. I'll have to get it machined square and flat with 6 holes.......probably be a failed experiment.

Cat hair?

I'm using a Koolance CPU-360

ny_driver 04-09-2011 05:30 AM

......the hair gets everywhere, but I'm keeping my cats. The 360 looks real nice, but the EK supreme is slightly cheaper. Debating....might get an EK supreme LT if I can find one.

Hopefully I will be able to just strain out all the crap and keep using what I have.

EDIT: going to try adding a stretched stocking screen around the paintgun strainer in the reservoir, hopefully it'll still flow ok. The temps were very good the first night I reinstalled the cat-hair/lint free stock base plate.

I'd hate to have to remove the waterblock for cleaning daily.

EDIT: it still flows fine....
