cuz i been trying on the x58 setup and i been getting 9m15s with +/- 1s up and down......

My little SB setup did 8min23sec approx, don't remember exactly. I'm thinking you're educated guess is going to be pretty close Nip :)

DrNip 07-21-2011 03:30 PM

Maybe a little less. We'll see.

DAMN THE SANDY BITCHES! :P

i think it's my chip or the setup...
now running 970 with 7-7-7-21 2000mhz

the fastest time i got today is 9:12:047 that was my 9th run still tweaking
went from 9:16:688 to 9:12:047 gonna try break 8 tonight before bed (most likely not gonna happen till 4am)

9:02 was the lowest i have ever got to last night.....

marcam923 07-23-2011 10:12 AM

Gotta see what I can do with my setup, 1156 currently, need to setup a hard drive with an OS just for benching.

Maybe my sandy setup will be ready before this is over..

MaadDaawg 07-23-2011 10:28 AM

interesting tidbit on Marcam's avatar - googled supergirl in the nude and it turns out that in the pic of the pretty lady she was actually completely nude except for that little shirt she's tearing off. The supergirl costume of photoshopped over the nude pic :P

Unfortunately, the nude pic had those damn out of focus effects on the important parts :ohcrap:

:D

HAHA don't know where I got the pic from.. They made me take it down from one forum. :morpheus: I usually like to keep my avatar the same across the forums.

MaadDaawg 07-23-2011 02:51 PM

So how much of an advantage does a UD4 give ya over an M4E?

DrNip 07-26-2011 08:34 AM

Those prizes should make people particiapate in the contest besides the 6 people that are.

Well going to have to pull the Intel for a bit and regroup. Have spent countless hours (a weekend and three week nights) tweaking, twisting and pulling these timings. Can't even run what I originally ran. Dunno if it is due to BIOS switch or RAM degrading. Going to take a couple nights off, prep my AMD mobo and get back at it again this weekend. That is if my cooler shows up!

Good luck Dr. I cant wait to see what kinda magic you can pull off in the amd side. Not many people willing to try that one it seems.

Witchdoctor 07-27-2011 06:20 AM

Not many AMD rigs around these parts

with rev 4 though I think we will be seeing more

We will. I'll be up and running this weekend. Just got confirmation of cooler being delivered Friday.

nice... Cant wait to see what you can do.... just wish you didnt have to buy another cooler  especially since a Frio OCK would look so nice being benched :good:

PS I may be a lil biased

DrNip 07-27-2011 07:20 AM

Haha I doubt that I'll win as I don't have the best RAM. I have all the OS tweaks but that won't get me there in the end. Not to mention there are always those sandbaggers and last minute guys out there that don't submit their best scores out the gate. I'm just in it for the competition.

Thats the attitude I like to see. Not caring if you win or lose just in it for the love of the game.

DrNip 07-27-2011 07:46 AM

I do wish I had better RAM though so I could seal a top 3 spot, lol.

Im rowing the same boat over here :) I have right now some HyperX 2000 C8 sticks 2gb which arent bad but not running like they used to.... (cant imagine what happened to them)

DrNip 07-27-2011 11:18 AM

Sold my cas 8 2133 Super Talents about three months ago or so. Kicking myself now. Now all I have are these cas 8 2133 G.Skill which aren't as good.

whats the best timings you can get from them? like 1600MHz what timings can you run?

DrNip 07-27-2011 01:09 PM

Dunno. I have only benched with them at 2133 our higher. I have my cas 6 1600 gskill for lower timings on the every day cruiser.

Was wondering if there was anyway that future posters could cut out all unnecessary desktop mumbo-jumbo so screenshots will be clearer? Some of the screenshots are impossible to read due to unnecessary desktop.

Splave 07-28-2011 06:36 AM

Or post post ram settings

Cropping pics would be suggested... luckily I have a couple big displays at my desk and good eyes :)

but still for the sake of fun and learning from eachother please try to keep the SS clean and readable.

Only OS's I have are retail XP, XSOS and Tai Server which just ain't cutting it. Anyone know if the TinyXP or Winlite are worth a hoot off the server?

DrNip 07-31-2011 02:08 PM

Well scored an english Windows 2003 Enterprise edition. Hooked it up with nlite and took about everything out of it and then some. Managed to get it down to only 240Mb! ROFL We'll see if it is worth a hoot.

EDIT: HAHA 1st run on stock server OS (with cas 6 settings that previously netted me a 16m 35s run) was 16m 41s. Nlite version was 16m 43s. WTF? Going backwards here. I give.

Neuromancer 08-01-2011 01:48 PM

Sweet! 990FX arrived today, gotta finish a project tonight/tomorrow and then I will work on my intel run before hitting up the AMD side.

How much time is left in the contest?

rickss69 08-01-2011 02:06 PM

Ends in 6 hours.

Hah hah

I found the deadline

thanks for the motivational effort though :)

and thanks for the MORA rad. dont know if I can get it cleaned out and setup before the end of the month,, but if I can... woo whee.

DrNip 08-01-2011 05:51 PM

Can't even get my RAM to run anywhere near what they were. :(

Splave 08-02-2011 04:50 AM

on Intel nip? post up your settings :D

Some very nice scores up in the hizzy. hardest part about tai server is going through and setting up a secondary partition lol! Installing this afternoon

DrNip 08-02-2011 04:54 AM

Yeah on Intel.

Dunno if it is because my waza runs have gotten better or what.

Don't have a problem setting up a 2nd partition on the TaiServer.

I found that waza works better and faster when you use it on two hdd's instead of one hdd partitioned.

Should I only be using one hdd?

Guess I'm just going to have to start all over and try a different angle.

Also could be I'm rocking a micro ATX for this comp with less settings.

Wife says what I do is considered insanity to others. Watching the same thing and expecting a different result over and over and over, lol.

Splave 08-02-2011 05:39 AM

lol!

Smart woman :D

What I have been finding is that my best times have been from moving the file only once from c: --> d: but for now just using pitweaker to quick wazza and check sub timings stability.

DrNip 08-02-2011 06:14 AM

So do you use only one hdd or two? Seems like when I use waza in full force I get the "not exact in round". I figure it is shooting me out the gate too hard or something.

Splave 08-02-2011 08:26 AM

I use one SSD with a small windows partition and large secondary

DrNip 08-02-2011 08:47 AM

Wonder if SSD's play a better role in it over HDD's?
