Nicely done.

Actually, I didn't comment on your earlier post about the blue pcb because I wanted you to see it all together. Yeah, the blue is kinda iky but it works well if everything matches :)

You might ask yourself

"Self, why is lunatic polishing all these parts?"

Could it be because he spent too much time at test depth polishing torpedo tubes on watch during his first few years in the Navy?

or

Could it be because he's trying to maximize lighting in such a small space by using the reflective properties of polished metal?

you decide...

Yup, guaranteed :)

MaadDaawg 10-31-2011 03:57 AM

I pick the torpedo tubes :D

Kal-EL 10-31-2011 04:19 AM

I think you are just a meticulous freak of sorts :)

OC Maximus 11-01-2011 07:15 PM

At the moment I'm trying to figure out how to add mesh to this build without making it look tacky or overpowering. Also debating which way to mount the psu for best wire management before I snip anymore wires. I should have time this weekend to finish phase one of this build (air cooled).

If I do decided to water cool at a later date it will be purely for the fun of it. :)

OC Maximus 11-06-2011 09:13 AM

AeroCool Shark 140mm Black Edition 140mm Blue LED Case Fan plus a mesh shroud.

Shortened CPU 4 pin by 6". Next on the agenda is shortening the 24 pin then sleeving it all.

Yeah, wife loves it when I solder in the kitchen, really...

Neuromancer 11-06-2011 09:43 AM

wow heavy duty, you buy new pins and just snip the ends off next build :) Might be a bit easier

LOL

On a serious note, that shit looks very very cool.

can you rewire a PSU with ribbon style cable? Is it available commercially in high enough gauge?

do you also need a video on how to pick up chicks? :P

Neuromancer 11-09-2011 08:32 AM

LMAO

oh and

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ribbon_cable

Some PSUs use it Ultra made some that did, I think corsair has a couple of units that use it. Best design I ever saw for 24 pin. nice and neat without the bulk of sleeving.

OC Maximus 11-09-2011 09:41 AM

The only ribbon cable I've seen was ide. I didn't know there was ribbon cable for mobo 24 pin connections. Didn't think the gauge would handle the wattage/amps or whatever you call that electricity stuff :) I did consider going pico psu since its a low power machine but didn't look into it far enough.

Well IDE cables would not handle the load, but, that was just an example of a ribbon cable....

I will look into it more. I dont like Ultras silver cables but I think corsair uses black one for somethings.

Ahh here we go

MaadDaawg 11-09-2011 11:04 AM

Corsair uses black ones

but not for all cables

OC Maximus 11-09-2011 11:57 AM

Oh, duh. I see what your saying.

Not sure wtf I was thinking about :confused2:

Most of my HX620W cables were like that.

OC Maximus 12-25-2013 02:51 PM

:Hi:

2 years later and it looks pretty much the same except for the cpu cooler. I went with a slightly burnt 2600K I picked of from Kal and stock CPU Cooler with my signature ;) I'll post some new pictures soon.

Unfortunaley the SSD died. Damned wetted Christmas lights:wh2:

Anyone have a small SSD laying around? 40 to 60gb ssd will do. Like I said in my other thread, nothing fancy.

PhIlLy ChEeSe 01-01-2014 08:04 AM

wow!!!!
very clean work you do there can't stop looking at it. sorry bought the SSD, love the shined up HDD'S shaweet!
