Congrats duder, your gonna love it with the DO. Slots to 110% is the trick for the super high bus speeds, although you may have to go to a w3540 or 950 to get the 5.4 you seek.

Is that Shannon (P223) I spy bugging you?:alien:

ok i feel like a complete idiot, but whos this?

Seriously, don't feel dumb P223,....
You really shouldn't remember me, but we had a great discussion one afternoon on evga tech line reguarding probs I was having with my classy when it first arrived. Wouldn't boot in HT no matter what....later, it turned out to be that sata port bug. One thing led to another, we started smack talkin about bot with eachother, I warned you about NBOC, and you told me your handle on 411.

The empire always remembers those who do us right and more so those who do us wrong.:alien:

So... did the Classy ever arrive ??? I got lost a few tangents ago :p

Oh yeah it arrived. Still sitting in the box. Just ordered my Mushkin Redline Ascents today. I have two jobs now, my fulltime and my newest partime. Between the two I don't have much time anymore. I am going to try to get some test runs done on it this weekend but also have my master bathroom remodel going on so I might not get much done until I finish that project. Got to please the girly 1st. So far my drnken ant likes!

A thing of beauty :D Now make it a thing of bot destruction! I think with this, you should be able to defeat Ahmen-ra! :trophy:

DrNip 06-13-2009 03:06 AM

Got her on the table installing Windows7 now. She booted at least which is always a great sign. Going to be just playing with her for the next few days to get the hang of it until my new RAM comes in then its pedal to the metal!

Oh and I lapped my TRUE yesterday. Temps were down an average of 4-5 degrees all around. :D

DrNip 06-13-2009 05:31 AM

Here is my stock settings. Got to love those low volts. No VReg temp probs here as my 2 - 38mm San Aces keep that in check. Stock TIM job on mobo too. Looks as I have no need to change that as temps are fine or at least for now. Might re-TIM on down the line. CPU temps are down after TRUE lapping. At these volts I was crusing 38-40's before lapping. :D

Chuchnit 06-13-2009 05:53 AM

Looks good bro. I wanna see some pics of that on the tech station. I wonder how it will fit since its almost e-ATX?

DrNip 06-13-2009 06:14 AM

The mobo fits just fine except on the opposite side of the station to the GPU bar. It over hangs about 1". I have the standard size station so I am sure on the larger version there wouldn't be that over hang. BIOS is a lil different than the DFI but along the same lines so training is over. Unfortunately my time has run out for today as I have to go start on that remodel.

Jeffro64 06-13-2009 06:27 AM

Thats OK Nip.... I have the large Tech Station, so just send the Classy to me and i'll take good care of her. :D

I have a feeling somebody is dying to order a Classy. FWIW the non nf200 board is in stock at the egg today. Honestly Jeffro with more peeps playing with their boards, it looks as if they are equal in overclocking. Plus you have those x2's so the non nf200 will prolly do you better. With the 759 model you will be going through three bridge chips to render images. That's just extra latency. If you were gonna game with them 280's then I'd prolly want the 759.

Jeffro64 06-13-2009 08:56 AM

Yeah... I can't find the nf200 board anywhere anymore. I talked to EVGA and they told me the two boards will OC the same and there was no difference as far as that...But I did order me a 920 D0 and a Gigabyte UD5 to play with. :D I'll see how the UD5 handles OC'ing and maybe later order a Classified, i'd still like to play with one of those for sure.

But I will soon be i7!!!

Jeffro, I was having a discussion about you a couple days ago. I actually said the UD5 would prolly be the best board for you. You seem to like 2d benches ALOT!! The gigabyte board won't hit the huge bclocks as the classified, but it is way more efficient; aka you will get way better scores clock for clock in your wprime, spi, and pifast. :D Plus I think the gigabyte has the most practical slot layout for a gaming purposes than all other i7 boards.

Jeffro64 06-13-2009 09:10 AM

Oh I like the 3D benches too.... just haven't had much time and was just trying to test and dial in some settings on the AMD rig at higher clocks. But yeah, that's what I told Frank when we were discussing boards... I can go with the UD5 now and play around with it and if i'm not satisfied I can always try the Classy later. Besides... I would have had to wait longer if I went with the Classy now. I just hope I can find a nf200 board when I do look to buy one.

I figured you like 3d too, but you and Rogue seem like 2d junkies :D Still I think with your personality thats the best choice for you. I don't mean that in a bad way either ;)

I can back that statement up fully. Clock for clock, the Gigabyte X58 boards beat up everything out there. If you plan on hitting 210-215 max bclk the UD4/UD5/Extreme are the boards to use.

Jeffro64 06-13-2009 09:16 AM

Well.... Maybe i'll finally have a good gaming setup when I get done benching the UD5. Although I think I fixed the problem I was having with my GTX280's... still, it will be a i7 rig.

The super pi efficiency on those giga boards are almost scary. If it wasn't for the uber extra clocks the Classified can get, the giga might be king right now. Some people are able to get nice efficiency out of the Classified too, but it's usually uber memory sub-timing tweakers that get it. Or maybe they have a Shamino's personal phone number.

Jeffro64 06-13-2009 09:29 AM

LOL... I guess that would be a good number to have. Although I think if everyone on the team here talked more and shared info and helped each other more than we do now that we would see some really good scores come about. I really like this board and our team and will work hard to help us move up... I got a lot to learn but i'm getting there! Once I have a better understanding I will give back by helping out whenever I can... although I can't imagine ever knowing as much as some of you guy's do, I'm just a backwoods country boy LOL.

punx223 06-13-2009 10:26 AM

the 2 classifieds can clock basically the same to eachother the only difference is the nf200.... i have tested both and both closk the same, not to mention even running sli 280's your not gonna see a bottleneck as most cards today cannot saturate a pcie X8 bus let alone a X16 bud

I got his number. 1-888-WET-POKE. (j/k)

The eVGA vanilla board runs the same as the Classified efficiency wise. I just ran 06 4.5 HT on, cpu score was 7600+. On the Extreme same bench at 4.4ghz scored 8400+ on the cpu score. That's a huge ding on the total right there. I do find the eVGA is a bit better at 32m pi, but gets spanked in everything else by significant margins. Which brings me to a point lol. The Classified and it's relatives are awesome boards, but there is a shi* ton of automatic subtimings being loosened at the IMC/QPI level to achieve the high bclks we're seeing.

This is good to know! I do hope some nf200's pop back up but if not that is good news.

hellcamino 06-13-2009 10:37 AM

What QPI/VTT are you using Nip? Mine will prime for hours at .960 vcore but it requires 1.215 QPI/VTT even for stock speeds. I still haven't broken 1.4v on the QPI yet and 4.4ghz is almost stable..

Well Jeffro the problem is a few things. First, with your problems hellcamino is the only one that could remotely help you with AMD clocking. I sure wish I could have helped more, but that bios looked like chinese to me :rofl Another problem is time. I have tons of ideas for guides and such, but I am very limited on the time I have to do them. Really its a learning process for me too. I just search the net for all these tweaks the "honorable" guys won't share cause they make their living doing this.

I haven't been able to bench much lately either, but when I do I try and take notes. Thats so either if I have time, or if someone asks, I can post my personal settings.

Now for the biggest problem of all. We are a very small team. 13 hwbot members to be exact. I love it that way, but that means the probability of us having the same board is very small. Therefore the settings are somewhat useless. Yet have no fear because it looks like this forum is going Classified drunk :D We should definitely be able to help each other out now. Then you and Frank are going to have the same board this time. That's always a good thing to have two or more members with the same hardware. Just give it time buddy, and I'll contribute what I can to get some valuable info on the board soon. Hell I gotta get back to the 32m guide and redo the whole thing. :rofl I just don't think those results are accurate and I don't wanna mislead you guys.

Oh go ahead and keep bragging about getting paid to play with uber hardware all day :p I'm telling you bro. You are in uber shape to keep pushing the buttons to be sponsered with atleast a couple free peices of gear

hahaha I'll give him a call later :rofl

Ya that is a rather large difference considering how weighted the cpu score is in 06. Like I said there have been some people post up some really efficient scores up. Either they know what some of those confusing settings do to tighten things back up, or they are getting supplied with modded bios'es.

I hear ya bro, I know you have your hands full right now... Just so everyone knows i'm not by any means saying there is no help here on the board or the team, What i'm saying is it would be nice if there was more time for us all to talk and compair. Frank has been a lot of help to me on making a little sence of this AMD bios (THANKS FRANK!) and it will be nice having the same board so we can compare and tweak when time permits.

I reread that post a couple times before I replied Jeff. I know what you meant by it. Over time we will get some more content up though.

:rofl You and Frank have spent many hours on the phone trying to figure your AMD out. That's an understatement too :)

punx223 06-13-2009 11:08 AM

meh im not bragging about playing with the hardware, though it can be fun, but im just tellin ya, these e760 and e759 even with quad 295's in vantage were almost identical scores ;)

I wonder if a chat page for tech support would work in these instances? :ash1:

Jeffro64 06-13-2009 11:10 AM

LOL...Quite a few! I think if the bios on my board matures abit that i'll be able to get more out of it. Even more if I ever use extreme cold.

Just jerkin' your chain Shannon. I didn't mean anything by it ;)

Jeffro64 06-13-2009 11:15 AM

One thing for sure though... I learn more by doing (Hands On) than by reading. I guess i'm to AADD to absorb anything from reading these days LMAO!! But I have learned a bit from seeing things on the boards.

No, when your pc is screwed up and you are messing about in bios it gets tough to use a lame chat page...When you have a couple of good numbers to call for help/advice it's much better.

Dunno. I've yet to even run any prime tests on this puppy. I only played with it for two hours or so before I had to work today. I will be doing more tests in the days to come. I will start a thread when I gather more facts as well as my new RAM. I am only rollin on 2GB's now.
