And yah I thought it was twigi too.

I cant find any pic of him "gold" that must be a bad shot...

(Gold was the lady robot Twiki hooked up with in one episode...)

Erin Grey tight spandex jumpsuits FTW!!!

I believe the gold one was the female he tried to mate with. Needless to say it evidently never happened . Or did it?

Back to the topic. Velocity stack directed air cooling yes or no?

yes? whats a Velocity stack again?

Archer 07-01-2009 08:36 AM

reducing a 6" to a 4" (a forcing cone of sorts) the flow is not changed but the velocity of the air is increased thereby allowing directed displacement of warmer air.

Kind of like playing wit power decrease Volts and Amp potential goes up (ever wonder why wire is rated by voltage?).

Kal-EL 07-01-2009 08:38 AM

I'd go with the ever so slight compressing of the air in a reducing cone if the velocity is unchanged, when the air intermingles with the heat and expands subsequently, it should increase the rate of heat dissapation.

Just a nutterz guess :D

I am not sure how I will do it yet but I need to work these things out before I complete the case. I already have plans for an evac tube for the video card heat.

Archer 07-03-2009 08:49 PM

Fab Done

http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/9149/fan1i.jpg
2 intake and 1 exhaust here
http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/4964/fan8.jpg
2 more intake with deflector to help prevent heat intake from psu
http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/7513/fan7x.jpg
Ignore the Drive it will be replaced SOON!!!
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/3913/fan6.jpg
Filtration for all intake
http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/5450/fan5k.jpg
Exhaust is not filtered heat extraction @ memory, right side HSF and chipset. External tube is to move hot air awat from case.
http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/7130/fan4g.jpg
put shroud on HSF to capture air from 2 rear intake fan's more readily and moved internal fan to pull heat away from video card
http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/4504/fan3p.jpg
http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/5724/fan2w.jpg
Two more shots of fan assy to see scope of exhaust and filtration.

All that is left is paint and clean up/neaten up:) also need to rework a CRT

Archer 07-03-2009 09:58 PM

Temps droped by 7* video and ~8-10* CPU all stoch sinks

I think it is developing a personality. The rockers in the front control power to the fan array.

DK red circles are intake side plate mounted
DK blue is exhaust side plate mounted
Yellow is case mounted intake
Green are passive exhaust areas (2 slots mostly covered on back for MB back cooling)
LT blue case mounted active exhaust

There is no MB rear panel plate only filter

Temps all stock HSF's
CNQ DA all temps at 100% CPU/GPU load
No array fans and 1 rear intake CPU 54, GPU 62
+ rear intake CPU 53, GPU 62
+ exhaust CPU 47, GPU 60
+ intake side #1 CPU 46, GPU 57
+ intake side #2 CPU 45, GPU 58
- exhaust CPU 46, GPU 59

idle all fans on CPU 31, GPU 52
idle all fans off CPU 35, GPU 57

Wonder what happens if I get a better HSF???

Archer 07-06-2009 05:20 AM

All fab done I think? The switches for the fan array are installed and my oldest got a taste of the soldering iron.

Oh there are two case badges, first one sucked (ran out of black) so the final draft is the one with the Phenom II badge.

Archer 07-10-2009 08:18 PM
