but tbh even though the uncore will help you come up some, its still is not gonna match an e8600 with a low multi and high FSB ;)

Correct, as I stated, 775 is still superior.

2chesapeakes 06-29-2009 10:00 AM

I didn't feel like waiting for my E8600 to get back from RMA so I ordered another one today. Should be here in time for the weekend. Unfortunately I will not be home in time to get some LN2. Looks like it is time to break out the geothermal well cooling for the NB.

ReverendMaynard 06-29-2009 12:27 PM

100's of runs today and I'm finding i7's not as necessary for per-run LOD adjustments. My highest run so far was at a constant.

Food for thought :)

Great work vivi my friend.Really cool guide for newbies or not.

Yep, the more times you run a test the higher the chances are it will be lower...sometimes by a lot. The flip side to this is there are more tests than just the well known CL which can bug ;)

It can get very complicated, it really does take a lot of work to get a good '01 run off. The paramaters of the 01 challenge will really make this obvious, it can drive a person to drink :D

there is just keep at it ;)

getting the order and LOD right is just part of the game but a very important one once you've got all the other settings etc sorted out

For and aired out 285 I think I'm very close to max but I did find that just using an LOD at 5.1 gave me better results, and trust me I tried from 3.0-9.0 on each to come to that conclusion lol.

hey 06-30-2009 04:43 AM

It's Working For Me :good:

Deanzo 07-06-2009 02:23 PM

Hey Goddy,

When you take this into account.

Quote:

----------------TESTS - System stabilty factors. (What the tests focus on) ---
LobbyH - MEMORY CPU GPU : HEAVY
CarH - CPU GPU : MILD
DragothicH - MEMORY GPU-MEM : MILD
LobbyL - MEMORY CPU : HEAVY
DragothicL - MEMORY CPU: MILD
CarL - CPU : CHILLED
Nature - GPU : HEAVY | MEGA CHILLED cpu
Any ideas why I can push the gpu harder on LobbyH over DragothicH
On a GTX260, gpu mem @ 1191 for both.
But on,
LobbyH I can run the gpu @ 1044
but,
DragothicH I have to back it down to 1006

Oh, I started testing one gpu last night :D

Vivi 07-06-2009 02:56 PM

i see :)

Thanks for the info, i will change it.

i got this info from James himself! (or most of what i can remember and what i freeze on)

Im sure it depens on some gpu's, but it looks like your right, thx for the know how.

OOH you little :D. Single gpu's it is eh :D

Only really for a bit of fun, and to make sure it's not too easy to win.

I must say, I did almost pick up an old 8800GTX to try and get a green card on 775 to win this.
But in the end, I'll just run with the hardware I have around the house.

:good::Hi:

Thank you. I would rather loose in a good competitive environment than win because I was the only one still kickin' the single card. Even though I could really use that pot.

I was going to make an attempt at single, but if deanzo got a 260 at close to 1200core.... no point really ohcrap

crustytheclown 07-08-2009 02:09 AM

I've tested other 3D benchmarks and that one's a no no, not a huge hit but still a hit.

youngpro 07-13-2009 12:59 AM

thanks dude, i learnt a couple things here.. you attention to detail is impecciable and it is showing through in your scores and results..

Chicken Patty 06-06-2010 03:31 PM

This is great stuff!

utilizatori 06-20-2010 05:07 PM

I set mipmap 3.0 but picture is not blur in 3D marks
anybody knows why?

Splave 06-21-2010 05:09 AM

maybe card or driver isnt supported by riva? You trying a 4 series nvidia card?

no it's 8800 GTS
I think I've figured it out
it's driver problem
when I try to change something in Nvidia control panel (like force vertical sync off) it returns to defaults any way

utilizatori 06-24-2010 03:40 AM

it's all new driver !!!
I download 197.77 version and now mipmap works
that's on 8800 G92
I also have 260 and I don't know how drivers will work on it

sumonpathak 03-28-2011 06:03 AM

Oh snap, it must be something to do with you accessing it from your geographical location. Try an anonymous web surfer like http://www.ultrareach.com/ maybe?

Likely some sorta geographically based policy implemented by photobucket in your country. The governement might have some sorta restriction or they are seeking revenue from you guys somehow. Dunno, glad we got you hooked up and jammin tho :D

Splave 03-28-2011 07:10 AM

they dont want you to know the secrets of 01 must be! ;)
