No such stores around here and I have dvd roms, just not SATA. If you can find something else to try though I'll try it.

I didn't realize a brand new internal dvd burner sata is only 25 bucks. I don't even have 25 bucks though. I hate being broke. Not many things I hate, but that is definitely 1 of them.

grub4usb is essential. Best way is to convert your XP installation disk into ISO format, then copy it onto your usb flash drive when you have made it bootable.

Sweet jeebus 980 is efficent. I am running 3800+ QPI 1700 6-6-5 mem 4200+ uncore 4480 CPU speed, and not getting even close!!! Only way I brokes 1'40 was to turn EIST on and run 2 instances of pi LOL

Yeah, contest was fun, but more importantly, I was back into benching :) Did not grab a ton of boints, but got some. Classified is by far a better platform than my cheap mobos :)

i'm starting to tweak voltages...cpu is getting crazy...bsod after bsod...rams are stock...i'm steadily increasing vcore.... temps are @ 62c :(

These chips doesn't seem to be made to last, I am having a hard time too keeping it stable at settings that were working till a couple of weeks ago

I am surprised you could even boot with that 2:12 mem divider Banik.

I can run 6-6-5 still and 6-6-6 up to near 1800... try lowering TRFC or RTL and I bite it..

They have the biggest impact on perf , If I could run any speed at 7-7-7 I would try loosening to that and dropping them. My Hyps remind me of TCCD. I could only run them at 2-2-2-5 up to 250... 2.5 or 3 I could not post past 210MHz

actually i was trying to lower voltage..coz of high temps..i'm all stable again @ 1.39x volts vcore..and 1.36 for vtt @ 4..5ghz with uncore @ 4.xghz

i could do 2.6ghz stock @ .9v on this cpu :D
