I can spot a bogus tweaker shot without my glasses. :cool3: :D There's a bunch of them in this thread. White backgrounds behind the #'s give it away. You don't have to feel bad. I would have been shocked if the shots had the right values in them. |
Lol! Funny thing is all mine were legit up until that shot...something just took hold of me. :taunt:

Nice job Rick! Thanks for sharing your mostly legitimate tweaks with us too :)
I do not pay attention to other peoples CPUtweaker screens as their settings generally would not work for my different setup anyway. |
You really should pay attention to the screen shots...there is always something to be gleaned from them. You can go back through the thread and look at my settings in cpu-tweaker as I progressed and see where and how much I changed different values. That is the reason I posted screens in the discussion thread. It is not so much the values or numbers themselves, but "where" they were made. As promised, I held nothing back. :good:

rick im interested in seeing what you think is the single most important thing to getting a good superpi and what suprised you the most with cutting time :) we need an interview, as him questions guys!

^^he already replied I guess, subtimings, :P

A wise old Romulan once schooled me in the ways of viewing other's screens. ;)
I stated earlier that I saw the largest impact when I delved into cpu-tweaker. It was the very first time I had ever messed with it and for me was purely trial and error (numerous bsod's). Next on the list I would say using the Olive theme. All the time prior to the contest I just thought I had been using it lol. (I'm such a noob) Getting the ram/cpu in the sweet spot was high on the list. You will notice that once it was found I never varied from it. I tried many combinations and always returned to it. Running 16k and cycling themes had an impact...just not sure how much yet. One thing is certain...it wasnt negative. Thanks once again Splave! Edit: Of course, finally going to two cores and trying the wounded 980X was a win - win situation. Also the suggestion about trying different mb bios's was valid. I did try this and it just so happened that I already had the golden one installed. |
no problem mate :) dont thank me thank yourself for all the time you put it
|
congrats rick, well played and well deserved. And congrats to everyone who participated, the team work in this thread is complete winsauce.
