The 285 is a good card for 01, look forward to seeing some results!

With the help of my new Greek friends and chuch I cannot go wrong! :D God I love my team

Patch 10-22-2010 07:30 AM

Speaking of 01, getting better efficiency with recent team recommendations. But I can't bench the E8600 over 5.8 GHz with decent RAM timings. I think I'll blame my REX. Add that to my inability to bench at more than 120 PCIE, and I can't improve my score.

Trying to decide whether to work on it a 3rd night, or start binning Cedar Mills. Have 6 new ones and the P5e3 sitting neglected in the garage right now........might be a better use of the remaining 25L of juice this weekend.

Tried a very wide range of voltage and temps, along with a wide range of FSB termination voltage. Also fiddled with offsets extensively (tried auto too). Have a pot on the NB so I haven't been shy.

More than most rigs, this seems to need baby steps. Doesn't like even moderate changes. I have to boot at 5.6-5.7 Ghz, then inch up with setfsb. Even then, I have to bench something between stepups or it freezes. Usually I just do a run of LH, bump up, run LH, bump up, etc. until I get to my target.

01 is a colossal amount of work. I think that's why people like it so much.

Celeron 430 = FAIL

That or I needed it on LN2. Highest I achieved was 3.916ghz which didn't get me where I needed to go and forget about running any other 2D benches. Highest I could run w/prime 32 was 3.8ghz. Will try this chip again one day on LN2.

WTF!? Just hooked up my Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4P I just purchased off Ebay. It doesn't work. Turns on but does nothing but beep every 2 seconds. No display, no nothing. I can't call it. I quit. This has been the worse year for me and rma's, doa's, broke and or damaged hardware.

EDIT: HAHA, problem fixed. Clearing CMOS didn't do the trick. Had to pull the battery and let it sit, then it fired right up. Still can't call it. Just glad the mobo works because I was about to cut my wrist with it. ROFL!
