Just dicking around and having some fun, Seem have hit a wall here

New BIOS is cool but will take some getting used to. Alot slower than conventional to set up and find shit

Tommorow will be installing an XP partition to run some real 2D numbers

I am liking this Sandy Bridge deal so far

DrNip 01-29-2011 12:58 AM

Nice, nice.

Getting my ass kicked here installing XP

set up files run fine, but when it goes to start XP to set up partitions it blue screens .... WTF

Any ideas where I am going wrong here :Dizzy:

Never have seen this problen before ???

Hondacity 01-29-2011 03:42 AM

ide

xp doesn't have the right stuff for intel ahci...

Witchdoctor 01-29-2011 03:55 AM

Trid that already, with the same result .......... :Dizzy:

Any other ideas, Asus Tech support is clueless.........

Neuromancer 01-29-2011 04:03 AM

what blue screen error are you getting? 0x7f? that would be ahci not disabling properly. FLP installed in IDE mode just fine here.. then I installed drivers via device manager
editted reg and restarted into RAID mode

Witchdoctor 01-29-2011 04:33 AM

Hmmmm.....

turned ahci off and put it in IDE ???

wonder why it would not work??

Wonder if 1253 is effed up. I'll try reverting back to 1053 and see if that helps

Sucks man something as simple as an OS install being a pain in the ass :Dizzy:

Neuromancer 01-29-2011 05:32 AM

UEFI is weird. Setting something and restarting, powering off.. powering up making sure it stuck and restarting again might help...

This was true on mine from bios 808 1053 and 1253.

you turn off sata6 usb3 etc?

no issues here on the deluxe variant
