I am not building a benchrig.

The system i use is the "normal" family computer.

My wife and son uses it as well.Thats why everything must be safe.

Dude, I'd strongly suggest you come up with some "reason" why you need your own computer and give the wife and kids a nice quiet safe rig to use.

You don't want them screwing with your rig, god knows what they'll put on it (or in it)

Welcome!

Great specs, and I agree, get them a cheap PC for websurfing. :)

my friend, overkill are underrated!
EVEN I KNOW THAT AMERICAN SAYIN! AND I AM CHINESE :clapping:

yeah i totally agree, give the wife and the kinds some rig they can relay on, and you play on something that's FUN!

like my mom and dad are using my old rig but it's one of those rigs i never pushed hard on
and my gamer/ht server is kind of a rig i just play hard work hard system
and my bench rig is the ones where i just abuse it like a sum'bitch

there is another sayin, don't sh!t where you eat! :good:

MaadDaawg 10-05-2011 04:18 AM

lol ... don't shit where you eat .... lol

Wouldn't have thought to put that into that conversation, but, wtf, guess it fits :wtfsign:

Really, to do benching that's any fun at all, you've got to tune the OS and the hardware to just below breaking point. Not the kind of machine that's good for a wife or children ... they'd hate you in no time cause of all the BSODs

Besides, you'd have to eventually teach them all how to pour LN2 w/o blowing anything up  Don't know about your wife, but mine wants nothing to do with that sort of shit

Go to best buy and get them some cheapo $300 computers, and then build yours to your specs

If she won't go along with you, insure the "family" computer is constantly blowing up whenever she uses it :muaha: THAT should change her mind :D
