all in all above comments are correct.... make a cult item/community.... cult community will buy item sight unseen and line up for hours on end or even days without seeing a working unit...
that kind of marketing is something I would love to learn as very few can master such attention to that level.

Agreed! Do a little search on NeXt Computers... Jobs also had the "first" windows operating system. Look at what NeXt Computers were used to make, the first website and web servers, the first Doom was created on one.
The guy definitely left a legacy! Whether you love Mac's (or hate them as most of us here do) you have to have respect for his body of work, whether it was all at his hands or not. To build Apple, leave Apple, start NeXt, go back to Apple after they bought NeXt, and make his mark on history. Either way we look at it, he is the reason this world is geared towards the Personal Computer. If he was not here would someone else have done it, probably, but would they have been able to pull off the marketing that he did, or the visions that he had...
Look at Apple now, their new CEO blew it big time with the iPhone 4S..
Jobs would have sold it as the iPhone 5, and made people believe they needed it, since when does Apply release a new feature on an iPad/iPod/iPhone, and it not be called "i" something.
Jobs knew just how to feed into people, and give them exactly what they thought they needed. Apple is going to take a big hit from this, and they need to turn something around fast, I predict that the iPhone 4S sales will be about half of what was expected if it was actually the "iPhone 5".
Genius is a good word, because he was precise and calculating in every move he made. |
