hahahaha i was waiting to see when someone was gonna start playing with some settings

but tbh even though the uncore will help you come up some, its still is not gonna match an e8600 with a low multi and high FSB ;)

Uncore is the secret to all that is good with the i7. I know with my 975 A batch anything over +275 CPU VTT or 4040 Uncore it is a no boot. Instant blue screen entering windows. Around -40 +300 CPU VTT to + 375 and 4200 to 4500 Uncore will boot into windows. For +400 to +450 4500 to 4700 uncore I need the pot to -80. Now if I only knew about the CL bug I could have increased my score even more.

@ soups - someday I will break the camera out and get pics of the nice LN2 fog rolling across the basement floor.

That sucks man. My W3580 is sitting at 4438mhz uncore with +300 cpu vtt. This is on air too.

For the LCC it has a chance. Note what won over on XS. I7 will win if you have the right uncore and mem speeds + the subzero clocks needed to get back to 1200 Nature ;)

I've seen all except this one.

Run in System cache mode, going to test and report back ;)

I do have a tip for you that goes waay back to Oppainters/macci days, run on an IDE drive. That way you can push PCIe over 130 on most setups, the gains are not that huge (compared to older gen cards) but it still helps.

What? You need IDE drives for that? :p I've hit 125-130 PCIe on the REX. Not that it was smart when the OS could've took a dump at any sec.

Just a note on this topic, when running a raid card, you gotta watch the pci-e/pci slots getting overclocked or the raid card won't boot.

RUN IN SYSTEM CACHE MODE?
havent tried that before lol
how much does it really help?

Sure you can try it but there's a big chance you'll loose your OS, IDE prevents that (usually ;))
