rofl 33k 06 at 4ghz on the cpu lol

Makes me wanna fill my socket with dielectric. Something i havnt been doing.

Vince and shammy just finished raping 03 single card ...

135141 clocks 1220/2440/1300, 6450 cpu

Thats some clock there. :ohcrap:

Dentlord 04-22-2010 02:23 AM

Fully modded card.

With just a little more V mine would hit 1200 core as well, but that memory is very high.

So did anybody find that V-mod already? Is Sham willing to share with us? :cool3:

Dentlord 04-22-2010 03:37 AM

If they did no one is talking about it

actually i think it is the cards. Going to take the cpu out of the equation and run it at 4.5ghz or son on water and clock the cards. Im sure though that the lesser the bottleneck the cpu is the harder the GPUs have to work and the lesser the clocks they will be stable at

Dentlord 04-22-2010 05:43 AM

Man I hope the cards arent duds :S

At least ONE of them has to be good, right?

Splave 04-22-2010 06:21 AM

hopefully :) i wish I had the RE3 here to try, common ASUS ship that MFr

Splave 04-22-2010 08:27 AM

alright tested on my lunch break, 980x at 3.8gh @ 0c

850/2000 at 1.125 = fail
825/2000 at 1.125 = fail
800/2000 at stock = fail
Stock = pass

Its the cards being unhappy, switched around the sli connector to the inside fingers no change, boosted ich up in steps from 1.3-1.45 and nf200 @ 1.3v no change. Changed slots on the bottom card no change.

what I have figured out = cards are being little bitch fingers. Going to try win7 197.44 drivers when I Get home. Any other suggestions?

Hondacity 04-22-2010 08:39 AM

remount stock heatsinks..dirty job but...it helps especially with the hot gpus...

This all done with two cards? If so, test them individually maybe one sucks dicks?

I got one coming my way since you said its worth trying.

Exactly! ;)

Splave 04-22-2010 09:24 AM

I will try single cards

Patch 04-22-2010 10:03 AM

That sucks, I got nothin else for ya.

What exactly is failing? BSOD, "display driver stopped working", or just crappy performance?

Splave 04-22-2010 10:11 AM

It fails in the game tests only, just a random lock. It just pauses dont loose display dont bsod it just freezes. frustrating as fawk

Sounds like it needs more V. :D

Sounds like vmem problem.

ReverendMaynard 04-22-2010 03:29 PM

takin stabs now, but what about the PSU? Might be beefy and all but it might not like the cards or vice versa.

Gutterz 04-22-2010 04:05 PM

This thread needs pics, I want to see some hardware porn.

Splave 04-22-2010 06:39 PM

thinking I figured it out, it hates clocking ram. Running single card at 860/1950 no problem in 03 soon as I put the ram to 2000 it gets flaky and stutters. Think evga gives the SC higher ram voltage than the vanilla? Might try a bios flash.

Splave 04-22-2010 07:31 PM

nvm 03 is just being a bitch, im 850/1700/2000 stable in 05

Splave 04-22-2010 09:04 PM

sooooooooooooooooooo I was going to cut my wrists lol

get this, vantage sli 850/1700/2000 passes no problem. 03 05 aq3 and 06 all have this glitchy pause then go, pause then go routine even with single card.

38k vantage though 5th for 2xgpu not too bad. sad sad cpu speed for cpu test though.

Curious, are you using a 3D optimized os or a straight getto standard os?

Also, you're clockspeeds could be warping the space/time fabric thing, might wanna check into that ;)

Splave 04-22-2010 09:57 PM

lol I decided fuck it leaving them at stock lol 50k 05 comming up

I think its something with the OC programs, because If I even open precision or ab and change the clocks even the slightest It will freeze in 3d

OS is tiny XP rev 3, and tiny win7 x32

might have a shit card

Kal-EL 04-22-2010 10:18 PM

Shit, get a damn webcam man, jipping me off from the play by play.

I didn't see the Tiny XP uploaded to the server just the Tiny 7 unless I missed it. Can you upload a copy please?

Splave 04-23-2010 03:49 AM

Im on wireless only comes free with my appartment, I think upload is like 5k cap or something rofl. I think brother OC or rev have it?

Anyways benched 10pm to 3:30am this morning till the ln2 was gone. just couldnt get the cards to bench at stock clocks. Everything is getting torn down, cards will be hammered one at a time on the stock coolers and cpu on water Im really dissapointed so far.

Dentlord 04-23-2010 05:13 AM

Wow Splave sorry to hear, I was ready for some WR shit with that cpu of yours!!

Did I just get insanely lucky with this Galaxy card or what is going on here??

Fingers crossed that you get it flying!

FACE 04-23-2010 05:17 AM

Hey Splave, just for poops and squirts you should try not only stock coolers, but a stock os as well.... ;) gotta find the missing link...

Splave 04-23-2010 06:42 AM

thanks guys

Yeah first thing going to reinstall XP clean, single card 197.41's and see what gives and what it will hit. Then I will try the other card in single. Im thinking the one is no good at all, IE a bit of artifacts at stock. Maybe poor vrm contact? temps are great though.

I noticed the GPU load during 3d benching is really sporadic and jutting like 80s-90%

Splave 04-23-2010 09:05 PM

Reinstalled win7 x32
Using 06 for stability checking
1st card does 835core 1040mem at stock .98v
850core passes sm2 stuff but fails in canyon Im just happy it isnt stuttering like it was

2nd card testing, more volts and sli results tomorrow. No ln2 till monday waaaaahhh~

Patch 04-23-2010 09:13 PM

Galaxy 480 arrived today and I'm hoping it's Dent's card's twin sister. Think I'll just skip the whole air crap and slap a MCW60 on it right off the bat...

Won't be able to play much this weekend as it's full of non-overclocking activities.....and no LN2 until next week. :ohcrap:

Splave 04-23-2010 09:15 PM

here is to 950 on water patch :) best of luck

Yeah way to go! :Dizzy:

Patch 04-24-2010 11:43 PM

Certainly not 950 on H2O.

Couldn't finish test 2 in Vantage @ 890.
Got through everything except the deep freeze fadout in 06 @ 900.

Stepped back to 875 and that completes Vantage. Arbitrarily set mem @ 1000 and didn't touch shaders. I'll play with them later.

Hondacity 04-24-2010 11:45 PM

were you monitoring gpu core voltage?

punx223 04-25-2010 12:02 AM

you can read the rear of the card, or in msi afterburner they have voltage monitoring.
