i need to work on this E8500 i hate how the GA-EP45-UD3P needs to have the right settings or you cant get crap

i deleted all the saved settings in the bios for my x3350 and e8500 cuz i had rmaed it didnt want them to see the 600x9 setting on the e8500 lol

then i think i had them on the usb stick then that got wet so lost evey thing on it :scared:

FlameOn

Nice benching Splave (still pounding the i5's) and DOM!

I had many hardware points lined up for this week but as I was setting up first benches with my good old Q6600@5050Mhz the board just burst into flames:

Wow El, thats some funk bro, never had that happen before, congrats on your burn braggin rights! ;)

DOM 07-19-2010 10:04 AM

eww that had to suck balls :(

what mb was it ?

Hondacity 07-19-2010 10:16 AM

over overloaded mosfets..thats a true hardcore damage:thumbsup:

Jor-El 07-19-2010 10:27 AM

It probably overheated because the mosfet sink was bowed after the Cascade mount was tighten, I will uninstall that sink and use some individual cooper sinks on each one.

I was only at 1.70vcore / 1.80pll / 1.60vtt w/ the Q6600 @ 5Ghz running wPrime 32m. :D

DOM it was a Ep45_ud3.

Witchdoctor 07-19-2010 10:35 AM

Wikes...... :scared: 1.7 vcore and 1.6vtt on a c2q

that is serious shit Jor .....

Hondacity 07-19-2010 10:56 AM

edited..

lol wprime lots of power definitely....

1.6v vtt is sorta near the brink of death..i think intel specs it at 1.45v..

completely irrelevant

i had my Vmch@ 1.75v...which killed my board ..lol

Witchdoctor 07-19-2010 11:01 AM

LOL ... never took vTT past 1.5 on c2q's .....

High vtt = Dead c2q :offhead:

Sure Splave, I have this beautifull specimen since 2007 and I always new in my gut it would be a great Ocier! 550fsb is a breeze with it.

I then send it to my Cousin who was using it on his office computer on stock settings till last month when I sent him a Q8300 and told him I wanted my old Q6600 back. I never benched thi beauty till yesterday on the Cascade. :cool3:

DOM sorry I missed that!

First for benching you won't have to worry about the REFS. For high fsb and clocks leave everything on AUTO, but vcore, vtt and pll. Ref's are only good for stability.

The Skews are more likely to be a place to look, maybe 900-900-0-0 or 800-800-0-50 etc.

What else you need help with? There are some basics on that board like: never disable cores thru BIOS, use older BIOS (F4 to F6), is it rev 1.0 or 1.1? DDR2 1Gb sticks are recommended. Board LOVES high PLL (leave on AUTO and reduce a bit when in BIOS).

That said I've only used this board with a Quad Core so I don't have any specific C2Duo settings.

aww might be the bios im on F10 and its rev 1.1 and i have 2x1GB Balllistxs

but ill try tonight when i get out of work or tomorrow moring but going to change the bios for sure

thanks didnt think about that, i dont think i was on that bios when i could get high fsb cuz the e8500 was easy to get 600fsb
