Agreed those 5.5G threads/submissions made my head swirl, dunno how many chips have to be gone through to get chips of those caliber.

Mine is stuck same as OCM at 5.2X Ghz. Nothing I do is helping it further. Worst is that the feeling that even putting LN2 wont help in getting more clocks out of the setup, :(

rickss69 01-26-2011 09:01 PM

If I could just see a stable 5GHz I would call it even at this point.

Hondacity 01-26-2011 09:14 PM

what are your temps?

rickss69 01-26-2011 10:41 PM

Not much...I figure if everyone is doing it with air or water surely my Boreas TEC can foot the bill. It held the 980X up to 4.7GHz benching.

Hondacity 01-26-2011 10:42 PM

how many remounts?

rickss69 01-26-2011 10:46 PM

Even with no thermal paste it will wipe the floor with any wc set-up lol...temps are not the issue here I am sure.

Hondacity 01-26-2011 10:51 PM

+1, on the GB board, I was trying to OC on stock bios and was failing miserably. Only after I updated it to the latest (tried a few in between) was I able to reach my current clocks.

Can't find it for the Revolution.

Link a brother up ........

1053 is what I am on now.

Just got my new 580 and holding out for eVga to get one in stock so I can swoop on the free 3D11 .....

Waiting on my RAM to get in from RMA, I will be working some single channle this week end. I will let you know how I make out Rick.

see if this board is just a POS or if your CPU is a dud ...

DrNip 01-27-2011 02:46 AM

Ya'll are lucky. The pro micro is still on the initial release bios. :(

Also if I disable EIST on the micro i can't clock the mult past 34 in EUFI or windows. It takes away the option for turbo mode, turbo ratio, and by all cores. WTF? So I get into windows and my cpu is constantly down clocking!!!! Only work around I see is there is an adjustment for it to stay at max clock in bios from 1 to 32 seconds and I adjust it to 32 seconds. After 32 seconds it drops multi to 16.

Witchdoctor 01-27-2011 03:01 AM

:ohcrap:

I have not played with it yet, but thanks for the tip. Prolly the same on my board, unless it has been addressed in the 1053 BIOS

I have just hit the auto clocking for the fun of it to see where it lands

4.533 using that. Will be playing with it a bit this weekend though.

Just wish I had my stix

DrNip 01-27-2011 03:10 AM

Wait a minute, wait a damn minute. Just went to power management in control panel, set it to high performance and wammo. Problem fixed. Max multi at all times with EIST enabled. Now I feel better in life. Was wondering how I was going to bench with cpu down clocking. Now just waiting on better cooling and I should be off to the races. :D

Witchdoctor 01-27-2011 03:14 AM

Kool ...........

Rip it up Doc

DrNip 01-27-2011 03:37 AM

Thanks for the linky to the 414 BIOS. Asus still only has the 404 on their website.

69_Goat 01-27-2011 05:08 AM

Here is the link Witchdoctor hooked me up with for Asus P67 mobos. Not only does it have BIOS's but all the rest of your current drivers.

Jesus! Asus can kiss my Assus! Finally managed to load bios 1007...still seems flakey tho.

Witchdoctor 01-27-2011 11:48 PM

I have not seen that BIOS for this board ?

is it on their site, I have 1053

How are yo flashing it ? b oot or software

Installed the AI suite and flashed it with that. Flawless

Sounds like something be effed up there ???

5 Ghz FTW ...............

thebanik 01-28-2011 12:19 AM

Congos Rick, you finally managed 5G, :P. Is that the volt you require for 5G or you are just testing still and overvolting it??? Would be waiting for new Bios, if that doesnt improve the clocks, I am gonna dump 2600K and get back to x58 platform. Though it does seem like a good platform for hardware/video card grinders for boints.

Points to be made if I can get these cards flashed.

Witchdoctor 01-28-2011 01:38 AM

Nice,

Clocking down ? turning off all the power savings crap does not help ?

That's strange because Asus has always been the easiest mobo for me to flash. :Dizzy:

Very nice though. At least your chip can do 53 multi. Maybe even more once you get the wrinkles ironed out.

rickss69 01-28-2011 03:02 AM

I'll put you my bios screens up before I leave for work Brian.

thebanik 01-28-2011 03:14 AM

awesome news there Ricks, so you havent got a dud of a CPU, :P, But its so frustrating to know that, whatever you do from this point onwards it wont improve your clocks other than maybe Bios update.

Yeah I have been saying that. Shit seems to do whatever it wants. I have EPU disabled still have to load up the software in windows and force it to High Performance :S

Glad you are finally pushing the 5+ GHz mark :)

DrNip 01-28-2011 05:50 AM

Coolit ECO water cooler shows up today but new fans prolly not until Monday or Tuesday. Damn snail mail. Going to have to strip the whole computer back down just for install. Damn hurry up and wait game got me again! Was reading a post at some foreign forum of a guy with same batch as me. He was hitting 5.3ghz. Hope I'm that lucky at least. Can't wait to get this going to see if the micro atx can hang with the atx.

5.3GHz is bootable but not stable enough to bench yet. I must start experimenting with these settings.

I'm just going to gloss over 3D benchs until I mod the cards. Hoping to be able to get Tai Server loaded for 2D and see what I can do with it this w-end.

DrNip 01-29-2011 01:54 AM

Here is RealTemp 3.67 from UncleWebb. It is compatible with SB.

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...postcount=4324

Is your CPU down clocking or just misreading in cpuz? If down clocking set your performance to high in the control panel.

rickss69 01-29-2011 06:12 AM

Thanks Nip - It is kinda flakey displaying the frequency...of course speedstep is enabled because that is the only way overclocking options will show up in bios. This is a strange bird for sure and nothing works as it should in or out of bios.

I'm going to have to call kiki shortly to try to get this Tai Server installed...

Neuromancer 01-29-2011 06:38 AM

Yeah ASUS screwed the pooch on UEFI I think.

On one hand... UEFI will be great once we get more tools that take advantage of it. On the other hand if everyone does not implement it now we won't get those usefool tools. *sigh.

Witchdoctor 01-29-2011 07:19 AM

Think I like just the standard BIOS

Been working with it so long it only takes a few seconds to set up

I guess I will get used to this though,

Just need to get XP installed on this POS
