You can dl it and use the free version Jeff.

Jeffro64 05-23-2009 10:56 AM

Just bought it awhile ago and the install file is corrupt or something...WTF LMAO!

I'm downloading another now since I have the reg info and i'll get it installed.

Kal-EL 05-23-2009 12:18 PM

Hehe, funny how those install files can get so tweated and you gotta d/l a new one all the time. I really like ur bench station, mine feels like a pig after looking at yours. It's o.k., I'll be buying all sorts of shit soon :D

Jeffro64 05-23-2009 01:24 PM

WTF... I got the new drivers right off ATi's sight and it says i'm not valid.

Chuchnit 05-23-2009 02:00 PM

Don't worry bro. Sometimes futuremark is sloooow validating drivers. It's all good and not needed for hwbot.

I'm getting there....Still having trouble with SuperPi 32M, I thought I had it figured out earlier but it started doing it again. Thought it was the ram so I switched to the Kingston....same problem. So I brought up Prime 95 and it was stopping in less than a minute into the blend test.... seems that mine likes a little more volts to the NB and SB. Put those back up a bit and took the CPU to 3.5Ghz and ran Prime for a little over 2 hours while watching a movie. Got SuperPi 32M going now and it looks like i'll finish slightly behind your score.

Yup... here it is.

BTW.... That desktop background is bad ass!

hellcamino 05-23-2009 07:19 PM

I see you swapped out the ram there! That made a pretty decent difference huh? Is your ram stable at that speed and timing? If you really like that wallpaper I can email it to you.

I'm bound and determined to get this turd perfectly stable at stock with the nb and ht link clocked at max prior to raising the cpu multi, I may have finally got it too!

Jeffro64 05-23-2009 07:42 PM

Yup...ram is stable it seems, ran prime blend for over 2 hours and was able to do that SuperPi 32M. Heres a 3dm06 @3.5Ghz for you. Yeah....if you don't mind send me that wallpaper bud.

hellcamino 05-23-2009 08:00 PM

That's looking pretty good!

Jeffro64 05-23-2009 08:17 PM

Now if I can get het to the big 4Ghz!

Chuchnit 05-24-2009 02:31 AM

Very nice Jeffro. I'm jealous of that ram ;) Timings are sick for 800mhz

Kal-EL 05-24-2009 03:25 AM

Way to go Jeffro, looks like ur getting a feel for the boards quirks.:wh2:

This thing is starting to show a little promise!

Kal-EL 05-24-2009 03:54 AM

Nice job Frank, looking at everyone elses benchmarks, they use 1.55 volts for 3.9ghz. Impressive.

This seems to be a keeper of a cpu.

Jeffro64 05-24-2009 11:35 AM

Did you get her stable frank?

Slowly getting more out of this thing, I was in windows at over 4.3ghz but couldn't get it validated before the BSOD....I missed it by about a millisecond. Jeff you should be able to kick some ass with your better ram!

Jeffro64 05-25-2009 02:22 AM

Good job!

Yeah, soon as I get home I hope to have some time to play with it some more and see if I can get more out of it than I did with the other ram. This ram seems to be a lot better... and hopefully i'll be able to put that other drive in with Vista for some dual 4870 X2 action!

Jeffro64 06-06-2009 10:44 PM

Just added the water.

Jeffro64 06-06-2009 10:55 PM

Thanks! I still have another 4870 X2 to add to the mix.

Chuchnit 06-06-2009 11:02 PM

Nice looking buddy. I can't believe how freaking huge that rad is!!

Jeffro64 06-06-2009 11:04 PM

LOL.... The loop held just over a half gallon of water!

hellcamino 06-06-2009 11:13 PM

Looking good Jeff! How are your temps with that setup?

Jeffro64 06-06-2009 11:33 PM

Idle @ 32c... I was hoping for a little better but that will do I think. How are yours on that new i7 rig??

Surprisingly good after reading about all these high temps that others have had with their i7's. High 30's to low 40's idle and about 74c is the highest I've seen while stability testing at 4.410ghz with ambient at about 70f/22c.

Jeffro64 06-07-2009 12:05 AM

Not bad at all

Jeffro64 06-07-2009 02:58 PM

Well... I've about had it with this rig. No matter what I do it won't get anywhere near 4ghz. I'm at a total loss with this thing LOL!

DrNip 06-07-2009 03:34 PM

Send it my way and I'll whoop it for ya. I just need the CPU, CPU Cooler and mobo. :D

Hang in there Jeff, we've all been there. You just need a bit of cooling to coax the best from it.

LOL.... I'm gonna play with it a little while longer, but it would be a lot more fun to take a blow torch to it.

I just might do that in the near future!

Should have been able to get more out of it with the WC'ing stuff I just got.... temps went down far enough but still nothing. I'm starting to think it's the board cause I know the chip will do much more and has on different boards.

I can still play with Vista and the other 4870 x2 on it though. :D

hellcamino 06-07-2009 05:30 PM

All it needs is some TLC instead of force feeding Jeff. nVidia board w/ 775 socket= cheap hooker that you tell to take it and like it, AM3 = fussy bitch that hasn't learned just how much she likes it...yet. i7 = fussy virgin that fears the tube steak and must be convinced that it's ok first. All things considered I think the LGA775 socket was by far the easiest ever to overclock.

Jeffro64 06-07-2009 05:33 PM

Yeah.... I'm still not against getting a E8500 and a board and playing with that also.

Chuchnit 06-08-2009 01:25 AM

It's too late Jeff. You have been corrupted. Don't fight it. The only solution now is to keep buying hardware. Without it, you will never be happy. Cooling, well you are turning quick. Soon you will be thinking about a chiller. Then you may or may not decide to skip that step. Why? Because you realize there is an evolution to the overclocker with the end result always being colder temps. Next step is considering a phase changer, but no. That isn't cold enough for Jeff. He wants one of those crazy looking liquid nitrogen evaporators. Yeah, that should do it.

There buddy, I just layed out your future. The path you take is your choice, but you will end up in the same place ;)
