Dont worry, this competition will be an OPEN competition of sorts just basically stating no cheats that may alter the timing of the benchmark or windows system timing to gain a competitive edge in the contest.

I want this to be a legitimate fun event for you guys. Testing your ability to tweak the OS and your system settings to the limit while allowing an even clock limit to level the playing field for those that cannot support 5+ GHz clock speeds. :thumbsup:

I sat Intel/AMD. I'll buy my AMD mob beginning of next week and tweak with it as well as my Sandy. Dunno if you should put AMD at 4.5ghz. Dunno how many can hit 4.5ghz on air/water. Maybe 4 or 4.25ghz?

just for grins I ran SP32 on a just installed Win7 SB rig, air cooled, no tweaking, full Aero and the whole 9 yards. (anyone know where the saying the "whole 9 yards came from??).

Anyway, after I started it, I took out the garbage, painted the living room, refinished the hardwood floors on the second floor, and watched Schindlers list on DVD. It was almost finished when I looked at the computer again :P

Yeah I think Intel should at least be 4.5ghz but AMD 4.0ghz. 4ghz on Intel you won't even have to jack with volts. :Dizzy:

Could prolly really go like a 4.25ghz on AMD and 4.75ghz on Intel. At least make it a little more challenging but keep it within the air/watercooling range. :D

I understand the test may take awhile but thats part of the fun of this.... what if someone only has a stock cooler on their HTPC and they wanna compete?

They will have their shot.

You may be Overclockaholics but for this competition should you choose to compete will be based on efficiency.

If this goes well future competitions we will focus more on clockspeed or another bench with its own set of limits.

1) Dont cheat!
2) Wazza, file swap, etc is fine, but any modification that affects the timing result or accuracy in order to gain a competitive advantage is strictly forbidden and frowned upon.
3) If cheating is suspected and believed to be true then users submission will be removed and user will be banned from interaction in any future Thermaltake sponsored events, giveaways, or contests on this or any other forum.

This is supposed to be fun... lets keep it that way.
