Anyone know what service/s not to disable or remove for maxmem when using nlite? Somehow I keep removing it.

Came up with a 100 MB XP that without waza was running the same times as my fastest waza runs. Problem is I couldn't adjust my maxmem to 600 so waza was pointless.

Just glad to have quit going backwards as I have the last week. Figure this maxmem service out in nlite and I might be back in the race for 3rd place! LOL

EDIT: I got it. Also got my XP down to 96 MB FTW.

Micro XP lol!

Thought I was on to something. Still can't beat my time. I come close but no jive.

If you just want to change your maxmem value, you can edit the boot.ini file in the root of the C drive.

If your install is missing msconfig, you can copy and paste from another XP drive.
I ran into this prob with Tiny XP or Chuck's XP, can't rememberwhich one.

Good to know bro, thanks.

I'm noticing that on everybody's OS their icons are not transparent. I don't have the “Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop” box checked but then somehow mine are still transparent. What gives? Did I miss a class on this or what? LOL

Here's the link to the boot ini file maxmem

What value is maxmem supposed to be set to for sp1?

Nice find Daawg! :good:

Wanna hear something weird? My last few runs have been without msconfig...the run will lock up either immediately or three quarter thru using it. All I can do atm is kill explorer.exe lol. Have not gone back to Intel yet to see if it's the same scenario.

I installed on OEM version of XP Pro and I don't have msconfig - could have sworn it was always there in the past :Dizzy:

This ASUS board now refuses to load a XP OS on any type of drive.

What I found out was that I had to set the SATA on IDE and then it worked fine. Factory default is AHCI
