Piping is finally done ............. testing for leaks tommorow
|
Yep, that is very, very awesome work.
Love the copper and attention to detail. Wonder if you'll run into any leakers. |
Test the loop with a MityVac...works both ways.
|
Have you thought about shut offs to each component? It makes it alot easier to swap out hardware when you need to. And, you won't have to drain the whole system.
What size copper is that? Looks really nice bud. Awesome work. I am very jealous. |
Is that 1 full loop WD or did you split cpu and gpus up?
You've one amazing gamer now man outstanding cable management! Copper piping just sets it off and keeps it super clean looking bud. :clapping: |
How are you treating the copper to prevent oxidation?
|
Oxidation can be handled with the type of coolant you put in the loop i think.
|
Thanks guys,
@ Duke, No I did not install shut off, but I do have a drain down valve on each loop and piped as such to be able to drian below the component it is piped to. SO while a lot of coolant is lost it is pretty painless so to speak. Being this is a gaming rig do not plan to tear it down a lot, Possible an IB-E upgrade when they are released if they are worth the price of admission . It iis 3/8' OD, smaller than typically found in PC water loops, but the piping has much less drag than the typical poly we use in water coooling @ 3D it is two seperate loops CPU/GPU @ Rich Using distilled water and PT Nuke. Not much corosion can take place in a closed loop. No diffferent than using copper blocks. Water corosion typically takes place in an open system, Like the corrosion you get at the spout of your faucet, that is because new water is introduced each time you turn it on, Once water disperses it mineral and corrosive proerties it is then nutrilized. This is why water makes an effective coolant in engines, and frozen yogurt machines ...... |
Only thing I can think of is maybe clearcoat the lines to prevent them from turning funky colors like copper is prone to do.
|
You mean the outside of the piping....... :scared:

Thats gonna be hard since they're in the case already. Only other thing i can think of to do that now would be clear nail polish. Short of taling them out to coat them.. But yea i agree. the copper won't stay bright unless it's coated. Still a matter of taste. But i would be a shame to see it turn dullk

wish MD has that luck of yours xD
looks sick man! it is truly beautiful |
