Ran into a problem on Friday, seems praxair closes at 5am and I get home from work at 6pm. Need to find someone who can fill it up for me.

OC Maximus 06-14-2015 07:49 PM

Request status... .. ... ... . .

Assassin48 06-15-2015 05:20 PM

Been trying to see how I can fill up my dewar. How long can I have it in my car filled up? My commute is about 2hrs long.

OC Maximus 06-15-2015 05:24 PM

If its got a lid you should be fine. I won't just evaporate if its in a good dewar. Have you called up Air Gas or a West Division in your area? 2 hour drives seems pretty far.

Assassin48 06-15-2015 05:30 PM

Praxair is 10mins away from me, I was thinking since I get off work around 3:30 I can stop by on my way home in another town.

I work 2hrs away

OC Maximus 06-15-2015 05:32 PM

Oh, got it.

Witchdoctor 06-15-2015 10:28 PM

Wouldn't it be prudent to move closer to work, 4 hours a day round trip is brutal ?

Cost of living is way higher, I work in construction so commuting is part of it.

See too many teslas and ferraris around work that I don't even want to see house prices.

Quick update:
Since the last update ive been into my other hobby ( paintball ). That has taken up all my time so far, which is why ive been absent. Thinking of finishing my desktop which ive had in pieces, just put in an offer on a x5650 which i hope works in my evga classy.

As for my ln2 setups, i got told at praxair that i need a truck to get my dewar filled. So im stuck for the moment.

Kal-EL 11-29-2015 04:04 PM

rOGER Roger.

OC Maximus 11-29-2015 04:09 PM

Si

Assassin48 11-30-2015 07:36 AM

Just picked up a x5650 for my desktop, $78 shipped!

Saw an sr2 board on ebay for $500, been thinking about it. Trying to decide if its worth the build.

Kal-EL 11-30-2015 10:55 AM

Pricy, wuts the intention on the build? cool points, benching or gamer?

All 3 tbh, been wanting it since it came out and i think having 12cr 26th would be nice for my game video edits.

Yah, definite crunching monster. All 3 doable, lol.

Assassin48 11-30-2015 04:10 PM

Right now i have the option of buying a 285 classy for $110. Idk if i should pull the trigger.

Ill patiently wait for a cheap sr2 board, he went down to $450 with free shipping but its still too expensive.

Witchdoctor 12-01-2015 02:38 AM

Rare card, but seller is out of his mind for a card that old IMO

Assassin48 12-01-2015 05:45 AM

Especially considering the 750 ti beats it for $90 new

Witchdoctor 12-01-2015 06:52 AM

It is for the hardware side
If good on cold and good software could be huge
You would not buy a card like this for any other reason

Assassin48 12-01-2015 04:06 PM

I do need to get some runs on dice atleast on a gpu.

Dont have a decent bench platform

Witchdoctor 12-01-2015 10:26 PM

with out a 6ghz Hassy or Skylake the 285 will be a moot point if looking for boints, if looking just to have some fun it would be a cool card to bench, I would not pay more than 70 shipped for the card

Assassin48 12-02-2015 05:43 AM

Time to look on ebay and craigslist for some parts now lol

Assassin48 12-02-2015 02:54 PM

After browsing the webz i came to the conclusion.... I dont know what i want lol

Im stuck at this point

Witchdoctor 12-02-2015 10:16 PM

What are your objectives, do you have an objective ?

There are lots of things you can do depending on what you like to do.

Obviously if you have a large budget and like cutting edge you can do well benching new gen hardware. That is my passion.

You can also pound on old hardware and be effective in the CPU arena. However if benching older GPU's you really need to have a newer gen chip that screams as 01 thru 06 and AM really benefit from CPU speed as opposed to GPU speed, if you have both you can really capitalize on a lot of boints.
If boints are not what you are after it does not really matter what you are overclocking, just have fun doing it.
I have recently stopped competing and now enjoy ambient overclocking just for the fun of it.

Assassin48 12-03-2015 06:42 PM

I want to get some ln2 runs but on a small budget, i still have a g3258 but cant remeber what board i have. Also using 2 sticks of my ddr3 triple channel ram.

If you were to bench what system would you put together?
I already have a 850w psu and an ssd for os

Witchdoctor 12-06-2015 10:10 PM

I would get a AsRock OC Formula with a Intel 6700K.

This platform will do well benching old cards at high CPU speeds

This will keep you GPU expenses down while reaping max hardware points

Also get into competitions as that is a large part of the game today

Assassin48 12-08-2015 10:02 AM

Going to check the used market for deals. All i need is dd4 - board - cpu

Witchdoctor 12-09-2015 07:39 AM

Good luck,

if you ever need any GPU's let me know
Thinking I have just aboput all of them ....... lol

Even have two working GTX 480's ......... lmao

Bones 12-09-2015 01:57 PM

Could be a really good deal for you, be sure to read the listing completely before buying.
I'll admit it's kinda tempting since it sounds like he just has a bad CMOS battery but you never know.
The fact I already have one keeps me from going for it so here it is.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASRock-Z77-O...wAAOSwQoFWPklG

Good luck!

Assassin48 12-10-2015 02:37 PM

Well i offered him something for it, not getting close to his asking price since they go for $135+.
Time to play the waiting game.

Assassin48 12-13-2015 07:25 AM

lost that bid, still looking around for parts.

Neuromancer 12-19-2015 09:47 PM

Up for $75 and it is the only formula OC on ebay

I am confused I thought Gigabyte had the OC and OC formula product names...err. or was it OC and ASUS had formula....

Assassin48 12-24-2015 07:25 PM

I lost some of my cables for my toughpower 1k watt psu. So im going to use it as an excuse to buy a new one for my x5650 build.

What do you guys recomend? Trying to get this one up and running again so i have a desktop to use again.

X5650
Evga 759 motherboard
Evga 285 classy
2x samsung 128gb ssd
Mora radiator
2x ddc pumps with twin top
Frozen Q res

Thinking about a new case aswell, core x9 for $110 on new egg

Kal-EL 12-25-2015 02:04 AM

I'd see if this one is still available http://www.overclockaholics.com/foru...119#post102119
