Looks like the driver in win7x64 is totally borked. I heard a soft pop when tryin to run 3D03 :Dizzy: win732bit is running o.k. tho. Gonna re-grab the ati drivers. |

That's just plain crazy if you ask me that you are having probs running Vantage at stock speeds. What do you think, shitty drivers? Also I was looking and noticed beta in the name in your 1st post. What's that about? Has me confused. |

Shit. Better pull one out and then test both separately. What driver you using? |

Cat v.8663.1_Beta5_Hemlock_Win7_Nov11 for 7x64 Maybe this 920 is cursed? Well its all fubarred up. Had to use AFterburner to up the fan speeds with the latest non-beta ATI drivers. Still freezes when tryin to run Vantage. I'm gonna take a break from it, re-image the partition and start fresh again. Some interesting information............... I re-imaged the partitions and staretd from scratch. Installed "Display" drivers only from the ATI recommended beta 5 for win7. Then i installed latest MSI Afterburner. Out of the box, afterburner doesn't let you control fan speeds here. So I went into user defined fan profiles and jacked it up. This resulted in card#1 ramping up fan speeds while card#2 did not change. Heres the interesting part....... When i set msi AB to osd for gpu temps 1,2,3, and 4, suddenly card#2 fan speed jumped to 100% and now they are both running at 100% and temps are dropping. However, Vantage still locks up on the loading screen for Graphic#1 test. Very well, carry on :cool2: Damn it all to hell. Can't run any 3d benches at all. Gonna try Vista now. Blue screen while tryin to install ATI drivers in Vista :Dizzy: |

I can say with a high degree of confidence that ATI DRIVERS SUCK, lol. :rofl Well, I switched to xp32bit because no 3d app would run in win 7 or vista. I also pulled the second card. Card #1 almost burned my finger off so heat is definitely a major issue with the cards up against each other. Ran just card#1 and the Good news is that vista/win7 is borked. Bad news is that nothing's wrong with card#1 and it runs 3dmark06 fine in winxp32. http://www.overclockaholics.com/Kal/5970/5970%20013.jpg I'll continue this adventure summorez. :D |

Did you set ioh/ich i/o voltage to 1.6-1.625? That is the range I used on a SINGLE 4890 OCed to 1080/1200 I would not try going too high with it, but might even need a little more for 4 GPUs. For drivers, look at the bot and see which drivers they are using, the latest are not always the best, even for new cards. |

Yah, I'll continue the fact finding mission as needed, its not like its just supposed to work jah know ;) btw, all clocks are stock on gpu. |

Wow reminds me of getting the 4870x2's when they first come out. Nothing but driver issues. Once the drivers mature I am sure you will be tearing up the benches. I know on my R2E and Classified for 2 x 2GPU cards I need to run IOH Vcore around 1.375 to 1.4 and IOH/ICH around 1.55 to 1.75. Anything less and it will fail tests as soon as I put a small OC on the system. |
