Sub zero I don't think it wioll matter what paste you use I use What ever I have on hand for mine .... have not really noticed any difference personally.

It may be a tuning issue. As if it was dialed oin for older cards it certaily won't be ideal for these new beasts.

I would throw it on an older card to see what happens ......

May just need a metering or refrigerant optimization

Was thinking same thing WD...
I don't have a smaller or older card to put it on ATM. :rofl
I'll do that soon as I can though. :) Vista has a 5770 to test...

Witchdoctor 02-10-2010 03:55 AM

You have an 8800 on the way right, that would be a good canidate

Linuxfan 02-10-2010 04:01 AM

Yeah.... I guess the 88GTS 640mb wouldn't run as hot as the 5870?

Splave 02-10-2010 04:25 AM

def not, the 8800gtx on the otherhand is a pretty hot card.

Linuxfan 02-13-2010 11:22 AM

Got an 8800 GTS 320mb in... Debating whether I want to have a go with this unit again or not..... I'll probably go for it after running it on cold air...
Thinking I should sell it to someone who isn't planning on loading it so much and trying something else soon...
