Board was an tpower i45
cpus were an e6300 and an e2160 2gb ddr2 ocz flex (capable of 1100+ CAS4) 850W silverstone psu little devil cpu pot Voltages ranged from 1.6-1.9 for vcore 1.4-1.5 for nb and fsb 2.3-2.4 for RAM As far as I can remember I couldn't even match the speeds I was getting on my SS :( |
no temp reading?
what was the problems? bsods? freezes? |
Well, as I said,
I reckon the probe was too high up the pot so to speak, as there were times when the LN2 would boil off within seconds of pouring, but the temp would read -100 And mainly freezes, although had some BSODs aswell, a lot of no boots. |
im not sure but some intel e6xxx and e2xxx had low coldbugs...
|
600+ FSB is a nice feat no matter how you slice it.
Did you try dropping the CPU multi a couple of notches and see if it would push further? (On SS or LN2). Oh and how are you cooling the NB? Stock? Air? NB pot? |
Air, and I got nowhere near 600 fsb!
Have gotten the board to 560 before as far as I can remember And no I didn't considering in general I couldn't even match the scores I'd got on SS |
Sounds like you need a more accurate meter that reads below -100c before anyone can help you.
|
Mm, probably true, although it didn't seem to have any issues going down to around -120 when we filled the pot more, I think i defo need to move the probe nearer the base of the pot thats for certain.
Any ideas about the bad contact? I don't know what I can do, as I'm only using eraser with one layer of shop towel type material , with armaflex around the pot, so I don't understand why the base of the pot doesn't seem to be able to make proper contact with the cpu :/ |
Oh I thought it stopped reading at -100c. Probe placement and the temps you get off of them are relative. Probe/meter accuracy is the most important thing. Really George we need BIOS settings, temps, symptoms (which you gave some of) before we can help you. It sounds like a few times you might have hit CB.

No, i just used -100 as an example.
Right, well, I tried a range of voltages to try and get something to work As said above, but for the e2160, which I had a little more success with: vCore 1.8-1.9 vNB 1.4-1.5 vFSB 1.4-1.5 vPLL 1.6-1.8 Temps started in the -90 range, then we accidentally went to -100, and it didn't crash etc, and booted up fine, so we kept it there, and then went to around -110, again, didn't seem to have too many issues, but based on the poor contact, I'm sure the cpu was far far hotter than that. It just clocked bad :P Again which is why i reckon it wasn't that cold due to poor contact, as i said, apart from getting a slightly better cpu-z, my SS clocked both chips better, and thats only in the -30s |
