The $300m figure mentioned in the original press release is the revenue hit due to shutting down and restarting production. This has to be added to the estimate $700m cost of replacing the chips already out there (with manufacturers as well as consumers).

That revenue hit is only in this quarter but Intel don't expect the full year revenue to be affected too much! Jeez this company makes too much money!

Honestly, this whole recall situation doesn't really affect those who planned on using SB as a benching platform and moving on. The rest, well it really sucks.

Problem is the boards will have zero resale value .... so it is eat it or send it back ... :shock:

I wanted mine long term for a gamer, now will be waiting for a bit untill new boards are availible I guess ...

taiwan and japan...imagine how many adopters are there.......i say 200,000+
