with the PCie mod on Gigabyte UD5 you can bench SATA drives on Nehalem up to 128MHz PCIe or so :) but it doesnt do diddly squat for scores

I would submit that high uncore does diddly squat for scores as well....its qpi that counts.

Really? Is it the same type difference as running high fsb on s775? Bigger/smaller?

Vivi 06-29-2009 06:22 AM

bigger fsb on 775's are best option for sure

Chuchnit 06-29-2009 06:34 AM

Vivi thanks for the comment in the 01 contest ;). I'm like alot of us here. We aren't the smartest, most knowledgable, or have all the cooling equipment, but I'll be damned if we don't yearn for the knowledge and have the balls to keep pushing it. Thats why your guide is greatly appreciated. Not many people post that kind of shit. I'm sure everybody here has soaked something up from this.

Dude, you have the goods now, do the tests for yourself? you will see what i mean. Just lower your ram divider, and manually jack the uncore, see if it makes a difference for you, because it doesn't for us. :argh:

Chuchnit 06-29-2009 06:43 AM

Well I've jacked the uncore. It helped but not what I expected. I'm talking about bclock. I'm about done testing with i7 for this bench cause I got an RE sitting in a box waiting for some volts to pump through it.

Vivi 06-29-2009 06:46 AM
