I got 5.6 to run IF I ran only the cpu tests, cpu score of 50k :D

But as soon as I tried a full run it would crash in the first cpu test so Im close but not there yet.

Always!! lol

I boot at 5.2 and then crank the V and bclk with the bot from there.

EDIT

I get it, you mean in vantage lolol ... yeah I will be, the gpu tests will run @ 5.7 and then down to 5.5 for cpu (or 5.6 if I can make it work)

Man I got to use the bot for the first time this week and love it. How easy is this?

I just wish they would do a way with that stupid, pointless pie chart.

Just getting my feet wet with this chip. What do I need to do to this Sapphire 5870 to get the clocks up?

Bump voltage up, fan at 100% and work from there. Should be good for 1060+ core. Oh and most of all ditch the Tiny7. ;)

Yeah! After burner and off you go. What do you use for 06 and vantage runs? I'm still stuck on my XP bench. Is win 7 64 bit faster now?

Witchdoctor 04-09-2010 07:22 AM

Your intake air temp may be warmer than what OC had if everything else is the same ?

Crank up the window unit .............

Using Cat 10.3 and Extreme Afterburner. If I can get the card to cooperate I will swap OS.

Drop your mem back down to 1200 to find your max core. Made a big difference for my card. 1.3v should be all you need.

Rickster, Do me a favor and start a new thread. Don't want to jack the gulftown thread. :)

Patch 04-10-2010 12:00 AM

Got my new 980x today.

The egg sent me a new OEM chip (no heatsink..). Same exact batch as the one I RMA'd.

3003B242

At least it is a new one, because there isn't a hint of dielectric grease in the nooks and crannies.

Mixed feelings about performance, but overall kinda scared. It doesn't like a lot of voltage, but does better at lower volts than the last chip. The IMC seems better than the last chip. But with brief testing it's giving me kind of a wall at only 5.1 GHz on SS. Could probably blast past it, but a voltage jump from 1.45 to 1.55v doesn't really get me anywhere and I'm gonna take my time.

Sure hope it scales with cold.....

Crappy score, but I wanted a chance to use OC's calculator.

ocgmj 04-10-2010 12:48 AM

Sweet! Good luck with the new chip Patch. :)

Kal-EL 04-10-2010 12:56 AM

Happy Clocking Patch :)

GFDuke 04-13-2010 04:35 PM

I finally got my 980x under LN2 and had my first LN2 session tonight. Come to find out this chip is totally amazing to me. CBB-115 and CB-155. So i know it can do better than i have done tonight. Especially since i'm a noob at LN2, But it was totally so fucking exciting. So check out the wprime 32 run and the pifast run i've posted in my space on page 1.

BTW i just couldnt resist posting them at the bot. I really needed something like this. Its late, i'm tired and i have to get to bed so i can go to work and buy more stuff!!!

MaadDaawg 04-13-2010 05:13 PM

phwew!

Just read threw the whole thread again :Dizzy: My poor GT has been sitting at room temp for the past week  The 762 arrived yesterday in a crushed box and is on it's way back to the egg.

good to learn the board made a difference :) but now I gotta decide if i want another sent, or, do the unthinkable and get an R3E :Dizzy:

What a PITA when I got a full dewar in the closet

Looking today and it appears that the R3E does NOT come with either the hex monitor OR the old reliable ROG Poster. Not sure I can live w/o visible boot up data... could be the R3E killer for me :morpheus:

Splave 04-14-2010 02:40 AM

Hey maadd, it has bootup LED's on the side. 4 different ones so you know where you are hanging on boot and they are labelled. Also with ROG connect you it will show your boot cycle on your laptop in words lol no more codes ftw.

Gutterz 05-13-2010 12:16 PM

So whats thae Batch on these to have? Or are they just hit or miss?

I looked at XS's spread an they dont have to many. Going by the LN2 Vantage category
A957 5859.7 Vantage
B396 5821.5 Vantage
B187 5713.9 Vantage

Those are the highest they have in the GT Batch thread. Do any of u guys got a differant batch at those clocks?

Splave 05-14-2010 03:52 AM

3003B is the important part imo everything else will vary.

DOM 05-14-2010 05:47 AM

mines a 3003B331

RomDominance 05-14-2010 05:59 AM

The imperial cpu is a 3003b287 cb-127c cbb-117c 5950MHz HT 1.7Vc benchable

Splave 05-14-2010 06:12 AM

hey rom could you post up your SS settings, maybe some guys could take advantage of them :)

RomDominance 05-14-2010 06:21 AM

Anything for you honey!

Last night she was running 3dm06 at 5.225GHz 1.55Vc 1.45vtt thru gpu tests, and 5.074GHz 1.5Vc 1.4vtt thru cpu test at -41C (warm in the shop last night). Curiously and slightly off topic, my score was less than my record with the 260-216 on air due to much lower clocks achievable on gpu. I pulled the stock heatsink and re-timmed to no avail. I either damaged the card on ln2 (very brief session right OC? lol) or the drivers blow for the older cards...tried 196.41's and the new 197.45's. Gonna screw with it a bit more this morning, but I think I don't belong doin anything but subzero, I suck on air while sucking air I think.

Splave 05-14-2010 06:51 AM

thanks dom!
