vcore 1.400
vtt +300mw
cpu pll 1.98
qpi pll 1.4
ioh vcore 1.175
ioh/ich 1.600
nf200 1.300

what should i set the vtt pwm and cpu pwm?

Chuchnit 11-05-2010 05:40 AM

I alway use 1240/490 or somewher close to that. It is the next to highest freq. Just remember that your pwm will run way hotter with higher freq.

kikicoco1334 11-05-2010 10:06 AM

vcore 1.4175
vtt +150mw
cpu pll 1.98
qpi pll AUTO
ioh vcore AUTO
ioh/ich AUTO
nf200 AUTO

here is what i am running now to be stable at 4200mhz (200x21) with HT and Turbo

thanks man i monna try that when i get home =)

Neuromancer 11-05-2010 01:15 PM

Raise QPI PLL to near the same as VTT if not the same. Raise IOH to 1.3 raise IOH/ICH to improve 3D performacne (thats PCIE voltage 1.65 wont kill it, I usually do 1.6-1.625) NF200 I have no idea. CPU PLL you can leave at 1.9 at the highest IME, you can run lower too, although I think dropping it is one of the reasons for more cpu degradation. But thats just a theory, I do not have the ability or resources to test it.

Should be able to drop the vcore a little bit I do not usually use HTT on so its hard to say just the couple of benches that benefit from it, still seems a little high for 4.2GHz..

kikicoco1334 11-07-2010 09:11 AM

yeah.. i am so done with this 3dbenching bs!
so many factors it's not even funny!
taking a quick break from it and gonna go back to my sweet sweet 775 Z-PUC =)
and my 920 chip REALLY sux! it's not gonna run the bench with out 1.41250V! WTF!
here is my final scores

Disable HTT for everything but Vantage, 06, PC05 and Wprime.

01 really needs high CPU score. Was asking about link fast modes the other day and Allen said it should help in 01 (because you can clock higher)

Also make sure to click the guides link on the left there is a link to Vivi's 3D01 school in there. Gives you approximate LOD settings for each bench and the right run order. I suck at 3D too TBH. I started off with a score in that area and managed to raise it over 20K points by following the guide :) But I was running a 4890.

Patch 11-07-2010 10:39 AM

Make sure you downoad GPUZ.

It's required in the screen shot in competitions or if you're planning on submitting to the bot.

DrNip 11-08-2010 12:59 AM

Screenshots are only required for non-Futuremark benches as you have an Orb link instead. I think that is BS as Futuremark always picks up your CPU wrong, not to mention you can't see peoples RAM timings and what not. :( I submit a screenshot with all benches though.

thanks alot dude!

gonna try that after class today =)

ioh pll - auto
memory sub timings 8-8-8-24-72

kikicoco1334 11-09-2010 11:43 AM

just real quick.. why lowering the memory sub timing? it's really stable right now or would that bring more stress on the cpu?

Hondacity 11-09-2010 11:45 AM

i thought it wasn't stable..lmao

kikicoco1334 11-09-2010 12:05 PM

oh no the ram is but not the cpu @ 200/1.40v

Neuromancer 11-09-2010 12:34 PM

Applications crashing, desktop freezing totally sounds like memory subsystem to me.

kikicoco1334 11-09-2010 12:41 PM

i think i explained wrong...

it's like when i have my cpu setting at 200 or 201 it's all fine everything will run the cpu at 202 with everything staying the same during 3dmark06 first 2 bench are fine and bench number 3 is just gonna crashes and give me this error
http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/7...g0420vq.th.jpg
sorry it's in chinese

and then if i increase the voltage on the cpu it'll run just fine

+1

kikicoco1334 11-09-2010 12:52 PM

i monna back down the ram to 8-8-8 real quick then

i am not questioning anyone AT ALL!

applications are crashing but not desktop freezing i can still hit [close program] and do what ever

kikicoco1334 11-09-2010 01:30 PM

samething

Hondacity 11-09-2010 01:36 PM

vcore 1.45

kikicoco1334 11-09-2010 01:51 PM

but that'll be too too hot... ='(
and the cpu score is liek 65**

this sux!
i monna put a little more thermal on it when i am done with the test this week =)

Neuromancer 11-09-2010 05:50 PM

06 crashing on test 3 = CPU vcore as HC pointed out.

If heat is under 100C it should still run. Obviously the lower the better.

EDIT: I was wrong.

Decided to go for broke tonight to try and beat my 23K wprime score on i7 920

Dropped to 32bit windows 7 to ease load on CPU and also decided to try HTT disabled.

I lost 70 points out of 23270

Have not pushed it past 220 BCLK, I know I can boot 230 so thats next :) I should probably install Riva so I can up the voltage on the 4890 and run like 1080 GPU lol.

Totally going to worth it to disable HTT for PCmark.

Dunno why I thought otherwise (guess all the multi-threaded tests)

kikicoco1334 11-10-2010 05:02 AM

yeah i monna redo everything starting from scratch with this setup not taking anyone's settings

kikicoco1334 11-12-2010 08:11 AM

got a good long sleep and now i am up and running again =)
i am hosting a event on the 24th of this month and i want this go perfect!
it's like a overclock/LAN party kind of thing

i monna be running 2 setups and i just don't know how should i run this...
here is what i am thinking...

Project Commando 356
---1---CPU------- Intel Celeron 356 D0 Batch #L640F238
---2---CPU------- Intel Pentium 4 631 SL94Y Batch #3608B007 (Special thanks to Patch)
---3---CPU------- Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 B2 Batch #L628B335
---4---CPU------- Intel Pentium 4 540 Batch #L416B174
---5---CPU------- Intel Pentium 4 521 Batch #L524A837
---6---CPU------- Intel Pentium 4 520J E0 Batch #L512B088
---7---CPU------- Intel Core 2 Duo E8300
---8---CPU------- Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 B2 (can't really tell the batch number cuz when i lapped it)
-------RAM------- OCZ OCZ2RPR800C44GK 4-4-4@2.2v
-------MOB------- Asus Commando
-------VGA------- PNY FX-5200 PCI

Project
Classified
-------CPU------- Core i7 920 D0 Batch #3913B007
-------RAM------- Corsair Dominator TR3X6G1600C8D
-------MOB------- EVGA E762 4 Way SLI Classified
-------VGA------- PNY GTX260 218

i have 2 power supplies
1. Antec TPQ-850
2. Antec EarthWatts EA650

but nether one of those have 2 2by4 power plugs, and the e762 is wanting 2 of them ...

mostly i monna be doing 2d or cpuz benching...
i will have around 30L of LN2 on the go! and temp gage is on the way
fueling the day before or the same day if they are gonna be open
is 30L gonna be enough for those 9 chips?
if not worst comes to worst i'll just overclock the 356, 631, 920, E6400

i am using http://www.antec.outervision.com as the power supply calculator, how accurate are they?

i am going to LN2 both the E762 and Commando
they are both first timers :taunt:

and should i be using a 650W power supply to overclock the Commando? or should i just use the 850 so it's gonna be out of the way...
and also how should i going by taking care the E762 board? it's needing 2 2by4 plugs and on both my power supplies it's only have one and one 2by2 plug :Dizzy:

Hondacity 11-12-2010 08:19 AM

you don't need 2 8pin eps connectors on the 762....on 8pin eps will suffice

kikicoco1334 11-12-2010 08:20 AM

i see...

hwo do you like my taking over the world plain?

Neuromancer 11-12-2010 08:42 AM

Thats a lot of chips. GL :)

kikicoco1334 11-12-2010 08:51 AM

yeah it is...
let's hope i'll do some what good this year lol

Hondacity 11-12-2010 08:52 AM

i say pretest the cpus ..learn pushing them to 4ghz or something..

kikicoco1334 11-12-2010 09:04 AM

so like set them up and play with each one of them and see what they like and how they handle?

what cooling right now?
dice? or just air?

Hondacity 11-12-2010 09:43 AM

just air

Hondacity 11-12-2010 09:50 AM

test northbridge temps...and how high the blcks/fsb can go with air...use low multi...

kikicoco1334 11-12-2010 10:05 AM

on air, test the chips and the nb, seeing how high i can push the chip to with the lowest muti? got it!
i monna work on that right now

DOM 11-12-2010 10:11 AM

nice set of cpus you got here kiki

kikicoco1334 11-14-2010 03:38 PM

got a few new chips today =)
SL7PU - Pentium 4 530J - 3447B141
SL96P - Celeron 352 - L608B392
SLA3J - Pentium E2140 - Q702A791

any good looking batch numbers?

kikicoco1334 11-14-2010 04:08 PM

i been looking and non of those batches showed up even close in the bot, like most of them started with a number some 5s and some 6s and a few 7s, but most of my starts with L... is that mean the chip i have is not as overclockable?

how would i know what are the batch numbers i should be looking for?
thanks

kikicoco1334 11-16-2010 02:02 PM

for the love of god! i am about to :flaminmad:!

non of my old setting works on this 920 anymore! i googled and found this attachment, in line 50 is the same as my chip same batch and everything 3913B007, but i just can't get it to stable on this e762...

i been tunning, and i came really close now,
everything is on auto, only the qpi and vcore are set differently, 1.4 vcore, 1.925 for qpi
and it's stable at one sec, then unstable another, it's just beeping on going

makes me feel like my chip's pmsing!

ps. i had a ga-ex58-ud4p as well, and it was stable with it! but not with damn board why is that?

-------------------------------------------------
and i also googled my 356 batch number...
seems like no one on the face of earth have used this batch to overclock
hell! i googled ALL of them and non came up

Hondacity 11-16-2010 03:26 PM

1.925v....who suggested that? that sounds too high.

again..post a screenshot of your bios settings.
