Bars are too high and not enough tire. ;)
Don't get yourself hurt buddy.
I ran a super gas dragbike for around 10 years. Low 9's at over 150. :D

dear god.....

PhIlLy ChEeSe 06-03-2012 01:41 PM

Very nice bike man!
Here in town they run super bikes with extended rear frame to keep the front wheel on the ground.

It's true. Used to do the Tri-State circuit up here. Ran in quite a few national events. Was even on ESPN a couple times.
Divorce ended all that fun shit. Had to liquidate all non-essential assets to cash. A .45 round and a plane ticket to Mexico would have been cheaper.

You do realize the bars are adjustable, right? ;)

150/80 is about all the tire you are going to get under a stock Sportster and is plenty up to the task. Built this one with AHDRA SEP class in mind...11.50 index.

Mr.Scott 06-04-2012 02:59 PM

It's awesome. You're gonna whack second gear, the boost is gonna come on, and it's going to smoke the piss outta that tire.
Seriously, it's an awesome build. I like it.:)
11.50 will put you around 120mph. Not a lot of rake on it, watch for speed wobble.

I've already run the piss out of it Scott up and down the road doing data logging. This turbo is not peaky like some...it's almost in boost off idle. Runs up to 120mph so far have shown no ill handling, but it will be getting a steering dampner anyway for good measure.

Next change looks like it will be the seat...not enough lip in back and when shifting it wants to shuck me off the rear lol!

Mr.Scott 06-05-2012 01:18 PM

Air or electric shifter. ;)

ny_driver 06-05-2012 02:15 PM

That is a pretty mean looking machine, Rick!

I'm very excited about motorcycles these days. :D

Hoping like hell I can afford to pay mine off enough this summer so I can ride it some.

rickss69 06-05-2012 07:02 PM

No air or electric shifter for this one. Gains would be minimal as I can shift clutchless with barely a blip of the throttle. If this were a dedicated strip machine I would probably consider it, but it will eventually be taken to Bonneville or Wilmington Ohio for land speed runs...little use for that there. The entire reason for the dragstrip time is to finalize tuning...I despise dynos. ;)

I'll be getting a nice HD helmet cam before next winter. :)
Looking for one that will run on 12v and has a big HD though......I want to be able to run it on highest resolution all day and night.

I have one, but it is not of great quality. I'll get me one of the GoPro's before too long...they do wonderful video and audio.

rickss69 09-09-2012 06:50 PM

I did not make it to Bonneville this year, but here is a pic of Jason from this weekend with his turbo'd Sportster w/ sidecar. He is in the impound there and will likely leave with a record run.

Been awhile since I last visited...hope all you guys are doing well. Update on the bike scene...sold both Sportsters and have a ex-police bike inbound from New York.

rickss69 07-21-2013 03:36 AM

Latest bike is another '07 Sportster. This one I have upgraded to 1250cc and I'm in the process of tuning it. Hope to get some 1/4-mile runs soon...will be testing it with the turbo at a later date.

Nice ride bro, in for some times .........

did you make any runs before upgrading it to compare to ?

rickss69 07-21-2013 05:36 AM

Nah, it was just a lowly 883 when I began. You can certainly feel the difference tho.

Witchdoctor 07-21-2013 05:53 AM

I'm Sure

PhIlLy ChEeSe 07-21-2013 07:06 AM

Its like a seat with some wheels attached to a rocket :scared:

Mr.Scott 07-21-2013 10:19 AM

It's awesome. I like the simplistic look. :)

rickss69 07-21-2013 12:58 PM

Thanks guys - I just swapped the 5-3/4" headlight for a 7" version to better spot those pesky deer at night.

Been 13 years since I took a car down the track...got a chance to do it again this weekend and I may be hooked again lol. 1967 Camaro E/SA Stock Eliminator is the ride and I may just have to invest in this one.

Is that a 350 bored out? Its still roomie under that hood or else I'd guess a bigger block. Stock would mean a 350 with a few, helpers. What a rush it must be, very clean Camero! Take off a few things like door panels and factory air, fiberglass front clip you got a 10 second bracket car. A few tweaks to the carb  Yer smoking!!! ENJOY!

What numbers did you run?

Witchdoctor 10-17-2013 12:05 AM

way cool bro .............
