Hey guys :)

der8auer FusionPot rev2:

Changes compared to rev1:

  • 10mm bigger diameter with 70mm in total
  • 5mm higher base to provide less temperature ups and downs
  • New internal design for a easier cooldown with LN2 and lower temperatures using DICE
  • Bigger diameter on top for easier filling

Few moments after production:
New structure:
New aluminium top:
Both mounted together:
Let's take a look inside:
Compared to FusionPot rev1:

Splave 09-25-2010 02:30 PM

thats gorgeous! whats the weight

der8auer 09-25-2010 11:24 PM

Thanks :)

Weight is arround 2,2kg.

Kal-EL 09-25-2010 11:28 PM

Nice lookin pot man :)

56k warning :wt:

der8auer DoubleImpact Pot

The idea was to create a very massive container to handle the heat of Fermi.

I've worked hard in the past few weeks to get these pots done.

First result:

The hole for the probe is very close to the GPU. So temperatures should be accurate.
Diameter in the middle of the pot is 40mm. Enough space for LN2/DICE.

Because of the huge weight of 2850g i decided to change the layout of the container. So it can also be mounted on nearly all CPUs (Socket A, 939, 775, 1156, 1366, AM2(+), AM3).

And for sure polished :D

On XFX 790i Ultra SLI to show the size of the Pot.

2 of these containers on AMD QuadFX mainboard incl. mounting

And finally mounted on a GTX275 Lightning:

(its important to put something between mainboard and pot to support the card because of the huge weight!)

Haha yea :D

No, it's not too heavy for gpus :) You just have to support the card by putting something between pot and mainboard. Did so, too here: http://hwbot.org/community/submissio...mb_59874_marks
8800GT has a small DIE without IHS so you have to be realy carefully but it works well as you can see.

Hilarious!!! I couldnt imagine what that was or what it was for and i was afraid to ask.

kikicoco1334 10-18-2010 01:43 PM

that baby looks nice!
how dose work? better than the papa F1EE?

Hondacity 10-18-2010 01:51 PM

here's a secret kiki

the f1ee is still one of my fave pots ...i'd buy it back...with apurpose

1. that pot can be used without mounting hardware :D
2. it can still hold a gulftown without any sweat...
3. with glazing its fast also..

bottom line...i should have not sold it to yah LOL

Splave 10-18-2010 03:19 PM

I like the f1 better too

kikicoco1334 10-18-2010 03:26 PM

hahaha honda i am sorry i am rofling right now

but yeah that f1ee is like stupidly heavy!
it's great i love it!

i am stocking up =)
working on selling the damn r2e and then buy the 762 then 980x or if passable 990x (that's gonna be up to intel) then NICE ram

but before that i monna just keep on using the Commando =)

OC Maximus 10-18-2010 04:49 PM

F1 is my only pot and don't think I'll need another for quite some time.

OCM

DrNip 10-19-2010 01:08 AM

I can't stand the detachable base. I was all the time picking it up at 1st and the base dropping off on me. I now have my armaflex taped around the base and shaft to prevent this.

Dentlord 10-19-2010 02:13 AM

I LOVE the rocket base .... so much less waste of ln2 and will hold GT just fine with a little trickle pour under load.

I have yet to try the slow base, since the rocket has done everything I needed it to very easily so far.

DrNip 10-19-2010 02:23 AM

I love it too. Tried it both on LN2 and DICE and it pulls down temps quickly! I'm re-wrapping my painters tape and Arma-Flex today to hold the base on better. I also ran a bead of TIM between the base and shaft.

Splave 10-19-2010 03:28 AM

idk if you save any ln2 with the rocket base overall though. Its awesome to use half a liter and be down to -100c but I mean if you stop pouring even to up your clocks with rog connect you are dropping 5-10c! f1 and 32m pi I was folding laundry and keeping it between -115 to -120c. I need to play with the heavy more i think. 1 of my current chips CB is the same as the cbb so it would be great I think.
