My 5.8 chip struggles to do 5.5ghz on air rofl 1.62volts
|
you'res still does 5.5 on air, for shure on SS then.
the two chips i had was one 51x and another 52x and that's it. But next week i will have a 2500k that does 56x, and there goes Dice on it. |
Had mine rocking 105 BCLK with 50 multi last night. Mine is a 56 multi chip for sure. Maybe 57 as I made it to the boot screen then it froze. That was all under water. Going to be interesting tonight to see what she will do under DICE. Maybe I can combine the high BCLK and multi.

My 5.8 chip did 5.6 on air. Have a 5.65 chip that did 5.5 on air. Have 2 more chips (air: 5.5 and 5.3) same batch # as my 5.8 chip that I haven't tested on SS yet. |
^ this man is correct, found the same in my experience. Although maybe 2 out of 30 would fake boot and fail not matter what voltage / temp.
|
Good to know. My previous max was 5.65ish. That was in the garage on a crappy H50 water setup, crappy micro ATX mobo with 15 degree ambient temps. We'll see.

So far failsauce on DICE. Nothing but post code 70 (PCH DXE initialization started) all night. Thoughts?
1:00am here and I'm calling it. I only improved on one bench, pifast. W/prime = fail and super pi = fail. I had a better Super pi 32 run but it froze when I was saving the pic. Taiserver OS = fail. XSOS OS = fail. Sandybridge = fail. They are hell of fun chips clocking on air but are way hit and miss when frozen. I think mines sweet spot was around -20. Any cooler and it got wonky. Postcode 70 all night to the point I about thru the mobo out the window. I tried everything I had and couldn't get it. Don't have the money to bin for a better one so I'll keep what I have for the gamer. Threw a 05 and 06 bench in at the last minute for a quick 10 points, rofl. Moving on to AMD for a while. Cheaper, slower but not as silly when frozen. Oh and newest cheap multimeter was crap as well. That is three in a row and $75 later. $25 more and I could of had a good one. Time to break down and buy a good one I guess. Just going with a thermometer this time. |
