Got it rigged up to one single 15a outlet outside my bench zone so no more shut downs within the bench zone. First stage is having trouble starting up consistently tho.....

not an expert but maybe get a booster cap for the first stage compressor?

I believe it needs 20 switch or bypass the box all together, these things are power hungry! |
i work on 350A breakers..if they're dirty they can arc....but heck if its clean..they're good :D

Kal - Lose that 100' extension cord and get one (12ga.) just long enough to reach a 20 amp plug in another room...I use a 15' extension cord for mine and run it from a 20 amp circuit down the hallway.
If electrical codes are anything like here, you should have 20 amp circuits powering your kitchen, dining room and bath plugs. A good hair dryer pulls in excess of 1500 watts. The washer circuit is also an excellent choice if within reach. |

Got mine at Home Depot.

The cord I have now is Fat and Long

Is the first stage having issues starting or re-starting. When I was wiring AC system the minimum off time for any compressor was 6 minutes between starts. This should be the minimum off time but 10 to 15 minutes would be better. This prevents trying to start under a high head pressure. The other item would be voltage drop on the circuit. On a 120v 1phase 15 amp circuit with 14 gauge wiring the maximum legnth to the cascade should be less than 75'. This puts the voltage at the cascade assuming an 8A load at 3% voltage loss. If you already have less than 120v at the outlet it would be more than 3%. 3% is the maximum voltage drop you would want on a circuit. |
Thx Jeff, cord's bout 15'. She stutter starts now but not sure if it always stutter started but its running :)
