NHRA dictates what can and cannot be done to Stock class cars... http://www.nhra.com/competition/classification.aspx Has to remain stock appearing and no gutting allowed like one would for a bracket car.

No lol...that's a Quadrajet.

Kal-EL 10-18-2013 02:20 AM

Vaccum secondary? Looks like wut was on my 88 Monte. My 72 monte had a 750cfm holley double pump, high compression, omfg u punched it and blammo!

rickss69 12-24-2013 05:37 PM

Just about got this thing turned around for the upcoming year. New wheels, disc brakes all around, a new Mosier 12-bolt housing and a new 3-speed transmission on the way. Painted/dyed the interior Gold and made some gauge improvements...if I ever get this wiring complete I'll never touch it again lol!

(No external video's atm) http://youtu.be/qA8iJhkGaZ4

Meant to ask long ago, was the vid taken at Lancaster? Spent many a weekend at that track. Long dark return road blows when your dragbike only has a backbone tank and you have to walk it back because you're out of fuel.

rickss69 12-25-2013 02:56 AM

That video was at Buffalo Valley, between Lebanon and Crossville off I-40. Come spring we will be renting the track at Bowling Green KY for some 1/4-mile testing.

Mr.Scott 12-25-2013 03:33 AM

Got it. Never been there. Been to Bowling Green though. :)

I couldn't, 156mph on a nice long freeway makes me knees rattle, let alone in a pinch of a 1/4 mile would be nutterz! :scared:

Mr.Scott 12-28-2013 02:24 AM

It's awesome. Used to do 150+ standing quarters on the bike. Sub 1 60 foot times also. :D
Wish I was young again.

rickss69 12-28-2013 07:55 PM

Well, everything is working. I was too tired to put the seats back in tonight...I'll do it New Years day and post some more pic's.

Kool shit man, wish we still had a track.

Mr.Scott 06-22-2014 02:46 AM

Delay box or no? Pretty good reaction times for an old man. :D
Nice 60 foot times also. Hooks good.

rickss69 06-22-2014 06:30 AM

Footbrake - This car used to 60' 1.45...we were plagued by carb woes this weekend and lucky to get it down the track lol.

In my dreams lol...that was testing on a 1/8-mile track that evening. It runs 11.50's in the 1/4-mile.

Kal-EL 10-13-2017 06:21 PM

11s is purdy damned fast too, nice!

cdoublejj 12-01-2017 07:14 PM

I like the Elky, i wish my 5th genwasn't such a rust bucket.

rickss69 01-07-2018 07:35 AM

Ok, sitting here at the office nearly bored out of my skull...thought I would give a shout out.

I've been homeless since March 30 2017 when I sold my home. Just yesterday morning I bought 5.6 acres of land not too far out of town and plan to build something to retire in. Thinking a metal pole barn/building with living quarters in the back...40'x60' w/attached awning to park the race rig under.

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps9c62ylt7.jpg

Picked up a couple of toys to keep me occupied the remainder of my years... two 1965 El Caminos.

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/q...pssuxc1xxi.jpg

Hope to have the building completed by mid-year so I can get back to some semblance of normalcy. I won't have any high speed internet out there...maybe some kind of dish thing. Hope all have a great year ahead! :good:

Kal-EL 01-07-2018 05:47 PM

Heya Rick
Whats the landscape like on yer 5.6 acres? Looks to be green and fairly level. Nice place to be at peace, away from pesky neighbors. We've been thinking of selling and picking up a few acres of Agriculture land to raise our Danes and run our breeding business. We got about three years left before we retire ourselves.
Happy New Year

rickss69 01-07-2018 08:36 PM

No pictures of the site yet, but yeah fairly secluded without feeling you are super isolated. Looking forward to spending my time doing other things for sure.

Guys are coming Sunday morning to make/install the gutters which it sorely needs. I have about half of the apartment insulated right now...the rest will follow after the firewall is sheetrocked and I run the lineset's for the HVAC unit.

Amazing looking cars, Rick. Love the red color on the 1965 El Camino. It looks so sexy. What are your plans with the cars?

rickss69 07-17-2018 09:42 AM

Both El Camino's are gone. The red one I never took delivery of because the seller on ebay actually resold it after I had made payment and was awaiting transportation...yep, some real winners out there in the world. After that I decided to shed myself of the blue one as well because it was misrepresented by the seller...my fault for not having it checked out before purchasing.

Anyway, I picked up this '47 Chevy Rat truck above Chicago recently and plan to redo it to my liking once I have the shop completed.

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/q...psomu6o3rl.jpg

Already stripped some of the metal off it. The bed will be the next thing to go replaced with a homemade flat bed of my design. The truck cab is sitting on a chopped '87 Chevy one ton dually chassis with a '89 Dodge Cummins turbo diesel stuffed between the rails.

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/q...psfljemdjt.jpg

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/q...psix7nr82i.jpg

The shop is built and they are putting metal on it atm. I don't have any pictures on this laptop right now, but I will post some soon of the progress. Hope everyone is doing well.

OC Maximus 08-12-2018 04:49 PM

Now that's one interesting build :)

rickss69 08-13-2018 09:48 AM

Yea! Building is ready for concrete and plumbing...be so happy to have this behind me.

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/q...pstoamliqz.jpg

rickss69 09-24-2018 12:24 PM

This is the shop I needed 30 years ago...oh well, better late than never I suppose.
Turns out all contractors are so flippin busy I can't get anyone to show up for projects such as framing, plumbing, HVAC, ect., so I just fell into it on my own. Problem is when all your buddies are your age and are in worse physical condition than you are lol...help has been non-existent. Framing was just strenuous...the plumbing, I just suck at, but got er done. Going to install a split-mini heat and air system myself and get a pro to purge/charge at the end. The electrical part was a no brainer as that was my business many years ago.

Decided to go with a metal ceiling in both the apartment and shop area. The walls will be mostly wood paneling of some sort. Lighting will be LED throughout. I will post more pics as this progresses.

Kal-EL 09-27-2018 03:32 PM

Hey Superman, you definitely know how to gitter dun Rick. How long it take you to frame all that up solo?

rickss69 09-27-2018 05:56 PM
