I need to play with the heavy more i think. 1 of my current chips CB is the same as the cbb so it would be great I think.

i'm studying the rocket base and my finding is that the holes are too deep.....i like the many hole design...but there is not enough mass at the bottom...if the rocket base holes were shallow-er ...it would be super.

the f1ee had more mass at the bottom compared to the slow base and rocketbase...

and yeah...1core for my i920 tears the pot up really easy...lol...rocketbase won't be used for ever....

the concept is just awesome...but the rocket base is just not satisfying...

Patch 10-20-2010 10:47 AM

Just sounds like a benching style disconnect to me.

The F1 is a "pour and leave it alone for a while" pot. Slow to drop, slow to rise. But that's what I hated about it in benches like 3D06. When running the razor edge in clocks and cold bugs (nehalem in particular), I couldn't pull it down fast enough for CPU1 test after firefly and you couldn't heat it up fast enough after CPU2 test before the ship. I love 3D06 because of those quick CPU tests stuck in the middle - it's a bench that's FUN to pour.

Rocket sounds more like my kind of pot. Babysitting the pot is a small price to pay for tighter control.

Splave 10-20-2010 10:49 AM

once the f1 has been cold for a while its fast enough for me. rocket needs some b'b's or something. that or rom needs to fly over and pour for me haha

weird thing is, 1 980x's is -150cb on rocket and -125 on f1 figure that out.

06 is the hardest ..i agree...but if you're adjusting profiles and only have 2 hands..the rocket base makes it just more tedious. if you have a pourer..you're good..but benching alone its just farking difficult.

sofos1990 10-21-2010 04:52 AM

Splave maybe something is going wrong with your probe . Maybe the holes are in different positions on the 2 bases or whatever .

Splave 10-21-2010 05:01 AM

I thought about that too mate but vince did both and they look exact same in depth and height  i will test more when I fill back up my dewar

These pics are at the start of the session we had and of course we were using a high speed fan so the ice is not that much .

Hondacity 11-08-2010 09:32 AM

Outer diameter: 70mm

Very nice pictures everyone. I will now share a few of my own.

The first picture is when they delivered my first 30 liters of LN2....I was so excited.:)

The others are pretty self explanatory. It sure is fun .

Ohh and that finger picture is terrible...especially after playing with LN2, I just couldn't stop looking at it and trying to tell if it was real. Good thing I read the whole thread. Still though, that's just disgusting.

And yeah the F1ee stays cold awhile.....it's amazing. Thanks Chispy.
