It Lives! Took a chance and put the 980X in the Classified and it booted...and lookie what she brung me!

Lan was out at the end of the runs so I re-booted to put at defaults so I could submit...she refused to boot again. This may have been her last hurrah but it sure made my day! :D

Going to try to get it to boot again and re-run...just to make sure it wasnt a fluke or bugged.

looking at your results...you didn't set maxmem...920s can definitely play with the 980s...also your 448x isn't optimize....use a different multi...

That is because maxmem was not helping on that install.

New install last couple of days using XP and maxmem... it makes a differnce on XP, but still having trouble beating my FLP times. I am not home tonight, will give it more of a shot tomorrow night.

No go on the boot yet. I will fool with it some more...been having the same problem last couple days with different mb's, memory and cpu's. Unsure if I am killing hardware or something else. Only thing I have not tried is a different psu.

1.74 - I have noticed it takes a lot more vcore/vtt for me to boot into XP than most others...could that be a sign of a psu losing it's mojo? I just find it odd that I am having the same problem with other mb's and chips as well. :Dizzy:

Hondacity 09-07-2010 07:17 AM

vcore? vtt? what is your 12v rail measurement? mine is steady @ 12.10 :D i love my psu....

anyways rams could be culprit these hypers are super sensitive...

also the removable heatsinks on the dominators....are ok..but the thermal pad they use is too thin...i had to use my own thermalpads so they have good contact....
