I was unstable disabling cores on the 762. I haven't tried on the RIIIE yet.
I played with skews some on 762 and it never seemed to make much difference. Just the 100-300 range. Got no scaling so stopped trying. Haven't tried on R3E yet, but Bloodrage did much better with 200-300 on both CPU and IOH skew when high baseclocking with i7 920.. |

on the core i5 -670..... at first i only used 2 cores....because using 1 core..would bsod.... i patiently tried lower blcks and lower voltages...and then cranking everything up inside windows....using evbot ofcourse :D 2nd -i5-670 6.8ghz single core.....validated can do super pi @ 6.7ghz but very low efficiency as compared to my golden i5-670... |
Was somebody asking for more pron in this thread?

Did someone say pron? What are your thoughts on the NB fan that comes with it. Al could you pm me your phne#? I will most likely have questions that you could answer.

First Ln2 test last night: -100cbb 980x... You will need a torch for this mobo because when it's in cbb mode the volts won't warm up the chip like the Classified (p55).
That Asus Cold Boot Bug button that is next to the 8pin pwr connectors is useless, anyone tried it? It just restarts and gives you same cold boot 'cpu init hang'... |
jor I used that button only when the reset button was unresponsive, IE instead of powering down completely
|
My experience has been the opposite, Jor.
My P55 Classy couldn't keep a chip colder than -120ish (tried 3 chips and re-did the CB mod X3). R3E so far has gone down to -150 to -160 range on the same chip that my 762 bugged at -115. That "CBB" button isn't a life saver, but it has helped me. If I hit it fast enough it will sometimes boot in situations where I'd normally have to torch it. |
