EDIT: nope, it's 2XQPI.

Well it would count except your right about the dual QPI. Really that wouldn't be a problem except the markup for that extra QPI is like 85%

A 57596 Vantage run was submitted today but it was with a dual Xeon X5680 setup. Still though the 980x by itself is right behind it with 52193. Looks like I might need to pick up a second job to get one of these so I can compete! This CPU is also killing Aquamark as well as some 2 D benches.

some guys are getting distributor prices..... i4memory guys are ordering some....they can easily get big points especially top benchers like dinos booj and bobnz are there...if they have youngpro back they'll be kicking some teams aXSes

Is Gulftown the end of 1366? I say this because when I look at the next big thing, Sandybridge, it is 1356 and 1155 socket. This also would mean the end of 1156 socket. Anyone? Either way I have set up a little personal fund on the side and going to gradually add to it over the spring and summer to pick me up a $1k chip within the future. :D

I hope not I was hoping to get a few CPU's out of my 760 ....

just a great board .......

But I am sure there will be great boards for the new platforms as well.

Not sure Nipster, anything right now is just wild speculation but looking at available resources and deciphering the bullshit, I'd say 1156 and 1366 are going to get phased out in favor of the sockets you mentioned. PCIE 3.0 would be the biggest reason I guess.

hwbot benching needs strategy..i'm guessing sandybridge will be very good..intel's been doing an ok job improving cpu's.

for now i'd just stick with my e8600 for 01..and i670 for everything...GT is just way financially crippling. and i still need to build my ln2 kit. and yes i'm selling everything. cpu and mobo and tripple chan mems. strategize my brothers..make funds for next gen cpu&gpu :D

Yeah it is financially crippling but $50 here, $50 there I should have one by summer time. I've never owned a $1k chip and hopefully when I do it isn't a dud. If so I will have to try to pawn it off on ebay. 32nm is what is calling my name. Well that and 6-12 threads. Looking for great benching chip. My 920 is great but limited to the 21 mult. Looking to put a chip under LN2 this summer. That was my hopes last summer but got side tracked. Who knows, maybe I can score a newer GPU by then too. Don't want to get left behind in old technology :D

For those wondering where I got my info on Sandybridge I got it at Wikipedia. I have found them to be a pretty reliable source on Intel and future Intel.
