i am not sure if there is like a better way doing this or not but.....
when i was clocking my friend's chip last night... we hit the cb/cbb around 120 range and i just unmounted the pot and tried to turn it on and then real quick dock the pot right back on to it and worked right a way! cuz we hit the cb a few times and i just got sick of waiting for it to heat up cuz i kinda burned out (really... i have no idea what happened to the hair drier... ) so that's what i can up with ... and it worked every time like no prob at all! O! most of you guys will call me stupid on this one... butta... when we ware clocking the 775 on a 780i the nb and sb is like smoking hot... so... we kinda just started to dig around and see what the best cooling option are... cuz i don't have a nb pot yet so i kinda just started to poor ln2 flat out on the board and it dropped the temp from 80C to around 30C and kepet really cool! |
get a torch @ homedepot
bernzomatic ts8000..with auto on and off... |
we have one of those lighters somewhere in the house
i just didn't know where it was lol those windless lighters =) |
you're not heating up a coin....
you're heating up a heavy copper pot |

wouldn't that be a little too much? i just don't know if i can control it if it's too fast |
I use a hair dryer + wprime @ stock speeds to heat up my pot when dicing, takes foreeever but gets the job done.
OCM  |
nice!
i just unmount the pot real quick then mount it back in then start it up then done! :rofl |
clocking my e8300 now sub zero
|
Oh what fun!
OCM  |
what is that thing that's to the left of the cpu socket with heatsink on top of it and the black little square that's north of the cpu socket there is 3 of them on the commando
cuz they run stupidly hot! like BURN HAND HOT! and i was clocking in side so that's a stupid thing to do it too! didn't have a reeally good cooling |
no fans?
|
at first i didn't remember to put fan on it and i actually burned my hand on it
and then i added fans and then the temp was lowered a little but the board it self like the top of the board was like still REALLY hot! like the top part of the the board, north of the cpu socket and that little square little things... now i am actually kinda scared of clocking the board now! and the 631 chip is like clocking it around 5.8~5.9Ghz with only minimum thermal compound on it and around -50C i think at one point in time the baord was not starting up because those square little fuckers are just too damn hot or something idk.... i monna clock a little 631 more sometime next week before i go to mexico rofl! learning dirty spanlish or spanglish right now rofl it's hard! oh one last thing tonight before i pass my self out ... my 970 just DON'T heat up! running super pi 32 at stock but only peak 40C on one of the core, and most of them are around 35s |
try hyperpi :D
enzotech sells small heatsinks .... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-011-_-Product |

Keeping those cool (not sub zero), will help with stability. Keeping hte Chipset cool helps all the way around. And subzero should be okay with that. I also poured a little LN2 here and there when I was doing it :) |
Quote:
yeah VRMs! yeah i just end up pouring ln2 on the board lol! |

did i mention v...oh wait....i might get tagged ... |
lol
me no the smart one hera! btw i am thinking about building a new 1366 setup right now cuz i have like a extra 960 and a 920 that i just use it for benching what board should i get if i jus wanna bench don't really care for performance? i really like my 762 but idk if i should get another 762 or what? i am just looking on ebay right now... and also if on the board there is like one bent pin will asus rma that board for me? |
just tell them...you received the board with a bent pin....they'll rma it.
as for a regular board... benching not minding performance? this is silly.. bench with performance always. classy x58..is always good r3e is good too ud5 rev2 is good |
ud3r also a good board
|
i don't know if i should just get a new board and taking out my 762 out of my movie rig cuz i am really not useing it at all.... or at least taking advantage of the board at alll.... cuz my cooling ...
isn't ud5 same as the extreme board i had before? ga-ex58-ud5? and the ud3r is that the ga-ex58-ud3r or the new ud3 with usb3 in it? and i don't know if i wanna bench my 920 or my 960 or my 970? |
oh and i am setting up my 920 up again and bench it before i go on vacc
got more than 20L of LN2 still yay |
ud5 rev2 is a little monster...
|
kk!
dude it's been 2 hrs now and i am still digging around with this stupid chip! |
please don't dig 6feet deep....lol
|
Just got another ud5 rev 2... wahoo.....

ht off please
|
ops...
haha how is that overall tho? good/ok starting point? |
wazza works...good result
|
I still need to learn wazza. My SPI times suck. Nice job kiki.
OCM  |
thank you thank you !
here is a video of waza for you ocm! :taunt: i love this code! it's just [youtube]! |
soooo..... turned out that 3913B007 is not my cpu!
at least the chip i though i've been using! just found my chip under my bed today cleaning up lol so .... i am trying to find who the owner of my current chip is lol |
i love when my cpu is running cooler than my body temp =)
20~41C mostly mid 30s |
new update everyone ..
I just got a and socket a 3200+ athlon xp chip hope that's gonna take me somewhere and hopping to get my nf7 fixed in the near future just gotta order a BIOS chip and then hot flash it And my new 970 is running at 140 with everything on with out any voltage changes so that's really cool It stays around 20c lol |
