Sounds like you have a conundrum buddy. Although I can't say I'd hate to have that problem. Two killer chips is awesome!

DrNip 10-29-2010 04:17 PM

I'm broke until next payday already. Will be buying torch and pouring device then. Hopefully I will have some change left over to fill the new dewar. End of November and December should be better times for me and benching. :D

im broke 4 life damn kids lol

do you need a torch when doing ln2 ? if so i guess im going to need one XD

Patch 10-29-2010 04:51 PM

Torch or heatgun are not necessities. They're very nice to have, but a blow dryer is a perfectly acceptable substitute.

I'm benching 3D01 on 1156 this weekend for the MOA qualifier. Won't be any boints involved.

DOM 10-29-2010 05:13 PM

i dont think the wife would like me using her blow dryer lol but that would be better then spending money i dont got :)

GFDuke 10-30-2010 12:52 AM

Well a torch is not a necessity but when you get a cold bug or cold bug boot and hae to warm up, you'll be happy to have one. A hair dryer will work but it's alot slower and sometimes you really don't want it to take that long. If you have a no cb/cbb cpu you're golden.

DrNip 10-30-2010 01:27 AM

I need a torch. Not about to mess around with a blow dryer, lol. Damn thing is $41 for the one with the instant trigger.

DOM 10-30-2010 01:35 AM

found this on sears http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...=1288438210668

idk if you have one in thown but i do

DrNip 10-30-2010 01:38 AM

You don't want propane. At least I have never seen anyone use propane.

DOM 10-30-2010 01:48 AM

 the both make fire

and idk wth im doing up so early

DrNip 10-30-2010 01:48 AM

Burns hotter.

DOM 10-30-2010 01:51 AM

just 150F more :P

Splave 10-30-2010 02:37 AM

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=263602_304652

you will want the flame control knob :)

GFDuke 10-30-2010 02:56 AM

Just go to your local home Depot store. trigger ignition and adjustable flame is a must. The blue tanks work fine if you want to save some cash. The temp difference is a mateer of probably 20- 30 seconds depending on how big the temp swing is. To me it dosn't really matter. But if the temp swing is like 80 -100 degrees, obviously the Mapp (yellow) will get you there faster. If i had a chip that bad i'd ditch it anyway. LOL Blue is propane and Yellow is Mapp Gas.

I use Propane all the time. It's not that much slower and costs alot less.

Splave 10-30-2010 03:10 AM

^ true I have a bottle of the blue and yellow, cant tell the difference except the MAPP smells worse imo (and my gf's)

DrNip 10-30-2010 03:13 AM

Mapp does smell crazy.

So this looks to be good to me. Almost $20 cheaper. It has the TS3000 tip on it. Wonder how much of a difference between it, the ts4000 and the ts8000? I guess the ts4000 and 8000 are strictly for mapp?

GFDuke 10-30-2010 03:26 AM

Na go with the cheapist one. You can use mapp on that one too. That ones exactly what i have.

Splave 10-30-2010 03:51 AM

Splave 10-30-2010 05:17 AM

GFDuke 10-30-2010 05:23 AM

Patch 10-31-2010 09:30 PM

Closed out October on Halloween night with this.

First test 3018B179. CB -165. CBB -125ish (what a treat!). Kept scaling with voltage, but I've killed too much good stuff lately to get all suicidal on the first night. Specially with such nice 3D cards coming out this month.... Have no idea what uncore it will do. Test that later.

Happy Halloween. Sister's watching the kids here for the next few days while I take the wifey somewhere romantic for her b-day.

Dunno yet. Kept it at 1.3 for now. We'll find out when I start pushing uncore.
