There are other ways to get that off without the lighter.....
1. After cutting, put it in the oven at the temp of the solder's melting point. I would wrap it in foil, then let it set in there for a few minutes and it should pop right off. 2. Uber-lapping. ...sand that bastard all the way down to the die. It may take a few hours, but you won't have to worry about cutting, solder, or making shims for the corners. :cool: 3. ...uh ...pay that guy to do it. |
i've missed this thread on XS but i havecome across others and the trouble was that there was hardly any improvements and the temp drop wasnt as drastic as this user "claims"

I would only try it in my old pentium 4 630.But 30C under load is just wack.
