Dice Pricing and results
Just putting this out there
Is $ 1.75 a pound a good price for Dice ??? I am going with the pellets as they will fit right into the Ghetto pot And if you were trying to get 4 cards benched AM through Vantage how much would it take Sorry for the nood question but I am a noob at this .... If all goes well I will have results and comparisons to my air runs... |
I dunno about that price man... typical is around $1 a pound. I get the bricks and bust it to dust.....
|
I pay $46 for 12kg, so $1.74 per lbs. That on the cpu alone, lasts me at least 10 hours of straight benching at 5-5.2ghz.
WD, you HAVE to smash the pellets into snow to get the best results. Just jamming in chunks is going to create temp swings and you can't get the volume of DICE in the pot to keep you from constantly feeding pellets. |
I just got quoted $8 for 10lb Block at Praxair
Use this to find a dice supplier http://www.dryicedirectory.com/ |
Thanks for the tip will have to stop at the small kitchen appliance store and pick up a ice crusher... or is a towel and hammer the prefered method

place screwed me, they didnt sell in lbs they sold in blocks they said. A big block 7lbs was $30 rofl bastages
4 cards and cpu or just 4 cards and you cpu on SS? Its hard to say as you will run each bench more than once to find a max. |
Hey witchy, check out Genuardi's (grocery store) I believe they have a store in your area, should be $1.09 a pound :) When you walk in the door right next to the Ice machine is a "Penguin brand" white cooler with DIce in it :) Blocks only...

4 cards 6 benchies each SS for the CPU
I am a slow bencher though as I always think the next run will do better ...... LOl So figure to run each bench twice at least ..... LOL thinking about 12 hours .... LOL Wish i had a CPU dice pot, may be able to bump my 2D Think I have milked the SS for all the 2D it can do with the 920 :ohcrap: |

I use bags.... the method I use exactly is a gallon freezer bag inside of a trash bag. I've tried other ways, but always end up tearing the bags. I cracked the shit out of my cooler breaking it up inside (lazy). Hammer, meat tenderizer, whatever's convenient and solid. A flat rock would work too. :Hi: |
