Help on posting video footage
 

I have an old Sony video 8 that takes digital movies on either tape or smart stick. It is also capable of streaming directly to the internet. I've never used it for making a You Tube vid but would like to make one of parts of my "the BEAST" review.

Can anyone offer "you tube for dummies" info for me?

You know how to get the contents of the tape digitized on your computer Maad ?

Yeah Benchman, it uses a firewire cable and can stream directly into the computer, or, on tape or stick for later transfer. Got a bunch of video software to change it to whatever format it needs to be in.

You know, I had an old sony that came with alot of software for video editing and stuff. Problem was.......they didn't include the software keys to activate and use the software.

I'm 83% sure you can use windows movie maker to import the video from your cam. I'm 87% sure that taking video via the smart stick comes out choppy and at a lower resolution. I'm 100% certain that playback of video on Sony Devices is 50% better image quality than on anything else. (by Sony design of course).

Save the video on your PC as RAW AVI, if it doesn't support that, then choose the best quality possible and then convert it to h.264 with Mainconcept Reference ( rip the video to your PC and then I'll give you the exact settings for the h.264 compression )
